I am concerned with the Bombers situation at receiver. We are already missing Shoen for the season and now we have Woli banged up and Whitehead is ailing. Its time to bring in some help. Maybe Rasheed Bailey should get a phone call.
Wheatfall can pickup the slack (will take a coulple games). The Bailey ship sailed. We brought in some talent on the PR. Non issue handled internally. Whitehead on the roster. One more key injury away from bringing someone in imo. Next man up for now imo.
We also signed Penny Hart who looks promising.[ Didn't Ottawa already sign Bailey?}
Yes, Bailey is on the Redblacks PR

Spell check. Non issue.

Just a guess that he's being looked at more as a returner than a receiver.
Wheatfall looked good earlier in the year. He was the best new receiver prior to getting hurt (ahead of Wilson).
Last year with Schoen playing at a high level with had an embarrassment of riches which is just not sustainable and shouldn't be expected every season.
Tomorrow we have:
1. Lawler - Top paid import
2. Demski - Top paid national
3. Wilson - Possible rookie of the year candidate (7th in league in receiving; 5th in yards per catch)
And then Wheatfall who has shown some promise and Clercius who is in more of a blocking/final read role.
It might not go down as the greatest receiving room in Blue Bombers history but it is a very talented group and it's certainly reasonable to expect them to perform at a very high level week in and week out. I like the group overall and the SMS spend is sustainable.

Too early to say yet, like his height. He dressed for 2 games and caught 3/5 passes for 111 yds, he may be good or just lucky, depends if he becomes a Zach favourite or ignored like Johnson.

Double spell check, it's hyphenated: non-issue
If no one else gets injured (knock wood) then I think we're ok. Woli, by my guess, should be back for the playoffs (even if that short-stints the 6G). Wheatfall should be able to be legit and hopefully respected by Ds. Clercius is like Woli-lite: he's huge and hands seem good. Use him like McInnis.
But if we take another R injury, we'll need to hit couch-sitters. Don't want to roll with an IMP rookie with 0 games under their belt into the playoffs!!
Our receiving core has been an issue all season. There's not much to do about it now. This is the best we're going to get. Woli sounds like he'll be back, though hopefully we let him heal all the way this time.
The good thing about this season is it looks like it's anyone's to take. Regardless of some deficiencies we're not used to.
I like our receivers.
Love Woli, but Clercius is perfectly capable in that 5th role and has the passport and youth to match. I'm excited for his development.
Wilson is Best Case Ontaria
Demski does Demski things for us, all the time
Lawler is overpaid and underachieving BUT there's no doubt he is an incredible talent that I wish we would game plan around more often
Whitehead is a peach of a primary returner and rotational receiver. Both a deep threat and gadget guy with that speed and quickness
As someone said above, Wheatfall was our best receiver before injury back in early part of the season and I'm hoping he can pick up where he left off in his development.
Brady has shown he can be an effective part of the passing game and a reliable outlet if defenses are bringing the heat on Zach

Well there was a significant discussion earlier about thinking we should bring back Bailey. There must be something more to the story than we know. He was released by the Argos on 7/26th after 6 games and is sitting on the Redblacks PR since.
That was about the time frame more discussion about Josh Johnson started and he was available. He's not making much on the PR so SMS is not an issue.
After losing Woli who was a very good blocker it's possibly more of an issue now. Will have to see how that looks for Clercius, Wheatfall and even Chris-Ike. Randolph may see duty when we go to a heavy OL and may be better than Wallace but that's just another question.
Our recieving corps is just fine. Too much talk about Bailey, IMO. He moved on, everyone else should too. Rotting on Ottawa's practice roster...goes to show you the grass isn't always greener someplace else and you didn't realize who good you had it when you had it!!

If Woli was healthy I might say we're fine. We have 3 rookies starting. Wheatfall was in his 3rd game. All 3 of the rookies look promising however a veteran presence can never be discounted.
If we had not lost Wallace and Feltmate to injuries, then maybe our protection would be better. Bailey played a role in that previously. We aren't sure how the rookies are adapting to the CFL game in that sense.
Discussing Bailey has some merit. We may have chosen to move on from him rather than the other way around. Doesn't mean that situations / needs can't change.
I think our receiving group is just fine honestly.
Clercius is no Woli yet, but has been pretty sure handed and looked solid when called upon
Lawler has made some miscues, hopefully he can turn that around. He still makes some insane catches.
Demski might have lost a step but is still very reliable as long as he doesn't fumble.
Wilson has imo established himself as a superstar in the making. I see a lot of similar qualities in Wheatfall too despite limited action.
I like our receiver group also. I think Wilson is a lock for 1000 yards this year as a rookie, and Wheatfall actually looked better than him to begin the season. Its certainly possible we will move on from either Schoen or Lawler next year to save cap space, although if Schoen comes back later in the season next year, we may be able to fit his salary in, especially in a home Grey Cup year, assuming a full injury recovery. I think he brings something different to the table than the other American receivers we have. Receiver is a position where injuries seem to be common, so ideally, we find some way to hang on to all 4 next season. I can't see us paying Lawler anywhere near what he made this year though.
