Just have to hope they'll be a consistent owner who invests in the club.
That may be a good thing or a bad thing over time. The CFL has had a combination of both. The Lions new owner is an example of a good one that seems to be revitalizing the interest.
If there is a new private owner in Edmonton, maybe he can turn things around. Empty stands are no good for Edmonton or the CFL.
I think this is a good thing. Who funds the massive deficit when the team is "community owned"? The community?
However, I wonder how this plays out when it is a community team. Is it as easy as the board just saying "well, let's sell it!"? That's it?
A private owner zillionaire can do the "you need to spend money to make money" thing, like the BC guy is doing.
