Meh, never very good as a WR.  Might still have a little in the tank as a KR/PR??  But as we've seen, those returners have such a short longevity... And I'm not sure he'd come any cheaper than Janarion, who will obviously take a bit of a discount to stay here.

Now... other teams?  I can see him getting snapped up pretty quickly because many teams have zero answers at PR/KR.

WORTHY of a training camp spot at the very least.

No I don't think so. If he was due to earn $140K, he's not going to accept a cut down to slightly above an ELC. Since he's not a great receiver, it would be bad value IMO.

We also have a dozen or more rookie DB's and receivers that will be looking to land spots on the roster.

We are the last team in the league that needs to dumpster dive.  If another team has cut a player, its because he isn't worth keeping at his current price, and won't re-negotiate to a lower cost.  Neither of those is a good thing for us.  Especially at REC, where we could have signed Sheed, but chose not to.

I get the instant reaction to grab players whose names we recognize based on our past, but we are at the other side of things now.

We are not scrapheap shoppers anymore, we are scrapheap creators.

At least reach out too him and find out his interest, might take less knowing there is playoff money and he would be used primarily as a returner only.

Doesn't appear Walters has two nickels left to rub together to make a dime.

Well, he does have the DP ELC allocation set aside to sign 20-70% of our DPs... otherwise what was the point of participating in the draft?

But I get your drift... We're broke like a Pinto on the interstate.
