Williams, Singer, Reese, Fletcher and Elsbury have been excellent additions. Each in their own way played big parts in our victory.  Our Canadian draft class includes 5 players on our 2026 roster.

Special shout out to each of them.

I corrected my original post. I typed Wilson but meant Williams. Wilson is not a rookie but also an excellent player. I should have mentioned Perkins. While he may not have a future as a starting QB, he has added value to the roster at the minimum.

The jury is still out a bit but Jenkins, Dixon and Texada might play a role in 2027.

Seems so, I recall the scouts getting a lot of criticism but they did well with the recent import crop.  Too much emphasis on drafting Natl. ST types has left the cupboard bare at skilled positions, this is going to be a difficult deficit to recover from.

Els might be on the outs... no way we keep starting an IMP as 6th next season!!

All the others you mentioned are huge scouting finds and keepers.  I might add Texada to that list, too.
Never go full Johnston!

I think that could be a possibility, from some of the TSN laudits aimed his way I get the feeling Neufeld might retire along with Zach and Stanley and go out as a group, which would open the door for Vanterpool to step in at RG. Eli seems to have done better than expected at Centre so that no longer seems to be an issue.

They'll still have a massive hole to fill at OT but they have the entire off-season to figure that one out. They had a bunch of Import O-line guys on the PR lately maybe one of them steps forward as a solid OT. Interesting enough they've elevated Poncius to the reserve list along with Vanterpool, so it looks like they want him to come back.

Blue In BC

I think because of the good import talent found this year, that we'll see less changes among our import roster next year. We'll see a couple but it will be a search for improving depth possibly.

Can't really say how the PR guys will turn out. Those that are back will have the initial shot at a higher depth level going into TC. Texada as an example I think has upside.

Poncius might be in the race at RT. Fakusi ( sp ) that was here briefly in the PR expansion has experience all along the OL and might be brought back for a longer look.

What we do or can't do in free agency will play itself out. We'll have to see who is on the potential list and then ends up reaching free agency. Then it's a question of SMS fit against other teams interested.

we still may see some turnover ie
Wilson (LB)
Nichols
Bryant
Elsbury
Moxey
Texada
plus other free agents who may move on.

Except for the injury stint, moxey has been pretty good. He's old, but might have another year in him. Just need to make sure we have a viable backup. Maybe vaval goes back to only return duty and acts as that depth.

Singer and Vaval might be able to parlay their success into NFL tryouts, so a little scared to lose our young finds.
My wife is amazing!

Elsbury has been a disaster. The rest have been very good to exceptional.

Vaval tried last season without any luck, I don't think Singer will get much consideration if a bigger receiver like Coxie can't make it.

Interesting Coxie has declared himself a FA already, probably looking to top Lawler as the highest paid receiver. I bet he re-signs with Toronto, elite receivers only excel when paired with elite QB's, just ask Gino.

Does Toronto have the budget to compete with other teams' offers, given they've spent so much on re-signing Chad Kelly?

I'm not exactly certain which players are potential free agents that might be lost. There is a small chance we lose someone like M.Williams to an NFL tryout.

That said regarding import roster:

1. We won't have to change two import receivers. White should get extended.
2. 3 DL were changed this year. I think it's possible we move on from Jefferson.
3. Elsbury replaced a Canadian and IDK if we go to 3 import OL in 2027. Bryant could be replaced by Vanterpool
3. I think Nichols will be re-signed. Systemic defensive issues, injuries and development of new DL impacted the back end. Ditto for Moxey.

So I see Bryant and K. Wilson being replaced but the replacements could well be on the roster now. Vanterpool, Poncius and Hazen to compete for those openings.

Texada was not a full time starter but should be at TC whether we see 2 changes already mentioned as possibilities.

Overall I see this as significantly less needs for potential change to " rookies " or acquisitions in free agency. The status of Jefferson and Nichols could go in either direction.

In 2026 we added: Reese, Fletcher, Williams, Singer as rookies. Veterans added: Broxton, Moxey, White,  Ceresna and Brown. Overall that was 8 new import starters + Brown as # 2. which was a lot for one off season.

What we do at the QB position is up in the air but we replaced 3 import QB's from our 2025 roster going into 2026.

Pigskin

The DL has been pretty steady all season.

Ceresna:  26 DT, 8 QS.
WJ5:      23 DT, 7 QS.
Fletcher: 20 DT, 6 QS.
Reese:    19 DT, 1 QS.
Lawson:   17 DT, 0 QS.
Jenkins:   8 DT, 1 QS.

So, 47 DTs, and 8 QS, out of our rookies on the DL.

WJ5 with 13 PDs is amazing. I am sure WJ5 will be back next year. Could have 90% of our DL returning next season.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.
