Quote from: Mick on Today at 01:52:34 PMClosed practice today, They clearly want the element of surprise with MTL regarding Zach. I'm willing to bet that he's playing this week. This is most likely his last season and is willing to lay it all on the line.

They still have to issue a daily IR report so I don't think " surprise " is any sort of issue. I agree if he's able to play he will play. If he doesn't practice today then I think he shouldn't play. 3 weeks off the roster and no practice would not be a good situation to allow him to play.

Whether this is his last season or not is a giant question. Flip a coin. I'm not sure which direction this will go.

Let's say he plays and throws 5 TD's and then goes on to win the Grey Cup. On the other hand he plays and throws to 2 pic 6's and loses the EDF.

While 1 or 2 games shouldn't be the ultimate factor to decide a players future, in his case it might. I base that on the number of times he's been knocked out of games and games he's missed.

Win a Grey Cup might bye him another season. It also might become his decision to retire at the top.

Let's see what happens this week and I'm guessing he does play. That isn't based on anything in reality other than thinking he will want to play if he is able.

I'm not sure I'd mess with the D roster. It was great the way it was against tor. If we don't need ratio help, why change to Smith?

The only way I'd make changes is if the player is clearly a better fit for mtl. But since I think the mtl o and the tor o are very similar, I think no changes are necessary.
Never go full Johnston!

Smith can be added but that doesn't mean he has to start. It just means he'd be available to rotate as and when necessary.

In order to get him on the roster we'd either take Hansen off or one of the 2027 rookie Canadian ST players. That would be the choices to be made.

If we want to add Ayers then that does mess up the ratio on the current AR. So that is a bigger issue and I only see 2 options to make that happen. Either we remove Jenkins or Elsbury ( add Vibert ). Preferably we don't do either of those things.

Has MOS changed his love of ST players? IDK

After last week, I'm not yanking Hansen. Dude is a playoff play maker. I'd sooner yank shay.

Keep in mind he also took an illegal block on the opening K/O that cost us 28 yards of field position. Shay seems to play well on ST's and records ST's.

I can't dispute that a key fumble recovery doesn't go over looked.

I'm sure if they're ready Smith and Ayers would be added back to the gameday asap, problem is we have no idea if they're actually close to being healthy or not.

With the changed usage of the 6-game this season the obscuration of injuries has only grown thicker.  For example, Cobb has been on the 6 game for over a month, I'm pretty sure he didn't hurt himself playing football and is being paid full wage to wait around in case of injury.
