Agree its puzzling how someone from Montreal's line did not win this award, surrendering the league lowest sacks, but good for Broxton to win this award on our sad sack O line. Seeing as how he won this award, it makes you wonder why he wasn't our LT/blindside tackle to protect our Qb's blindside, its actually embarassing when you consider how bad Bryant's season was and how many games we lost due to Qb injury.

Looks like multiple Montreal OL got 1st place votes, cancelling each other out.
My wife is amazing!

Hmm, maybe Broxton's presser gives another clue. He (and MOS) talked about how hard it is to go from left to right.

So maybe people are giving him extra credit for doing that well.
Never go full Johnston!

Broxton doesn't deserve the award, but what do I know?

According to Pro Football Focus, he's literally the 2nd highest rated tackle in the entire league based on statistics, and the highest rated OT in terms of pass protection with an overall score of 81.5/100, allowing only something like 2 sacks and 11 pressures allowed all season, while being part of the offense with the highest rushing total in the league.  Just sayin.

Sir Blue and Gold

Goes to show you how badly some of our other pieces have struggled this year on the offensive line. Centre has been a challenge. Bryant has been pretty average. Gabe Wallace hasn't taken the step forward everyone hoped. Tough calls there this off-season. Neufeld's been our second best guy there and that's not exactly a ringing endorsement at this stage in his career.

Can not help but agree with your comments. I think Bryant has been below average or average at best. Wallace has been somewhat of a disappointment. The entire left side (LG and LT) needs to be upgraded in the off season IMHO.

So if Broxton is second rated, why didn't whoever was top rated win?

3down says Browxton was highest among full time starters. Whoever was in first must have been a part-time player.

Not saying Broxton isn't deserving, but considering the winner is selected by a small group of reporters with limited football knowledge it's not much better than a fan vote.  I'd respect the choices of a committees composed of former players and coaches more, at least they would be experts in their field. Most of these reporters don't even have access to game film.

That makes sense. I wonder if you gave our Qbs a vote how theyd rank.

I predict if Gabe Wallace remains a staple with the team over the next decade he'll become a Ring of Honour member, cutting him at this stage of his career would be like the Als dumping Walby. Size doesn't grow on trees.

I wouldn't be cutting Gabe, but I don't see him in the Ring of Honour. Walby moved much better then Gabe does.
