Or they focus on winning the Grey Cup and treat this like the exhibition game that it is.

Hope springs eternal!  If vegas makes us the favorites I know what I might put big money on... At 3.5+ I'd be all over BC.

Betting odds opened at -3.5 WPG, probably some inside information about the BC line up even though they didnt practice today.

Maybe Buck Pierce will do us a favour and let his star players rest.

A lame win like the Riders just pulled off is the last thing I want to see.  Better for the Bombers to go down fighting.

Eh, even poorer answers than normal, hard work in practice is not relating to success on the field. Would have liked to hear directly from Younger on why his defence broke down.

I wonder what the moneyline payout on a BC win is.  I'll check later.  -3.5 probably won't break 2.6 on decimal payout odds.  We certainly do have a chance to win if the O can put up big points, even if the D lets them run for 440 yards.

The key won't be who they hold off O (it won't matter, as only Salter+Horvath are needed to win, and maybe the OL), it will be if they rest guys on D.  If they rest their best DBs (and Betts!) then our O could have a field day.

Remember how pre-2019 teams would bring their C-team against our A-team in garbage season (like CGY) and they'd still KILL us?  Ya, we may be back to those days.  Those were soooo embarrassing -- our top guys giving it their all to get into a last place playoff berth, and they couldn't beat the worst PR squad from the opponent...

And -3.5 favorites is actually not that much if the inside scoop is that Rourke + Hatcher + Betts + co are all undressed!  In a normal world if we were contenders it would be more like -9 if it was our A-team against the BC B-list.  This is Vegas saying they are nervous Salter+Horvath will repeat what they did a couple of months ago.

Now, if Horvath is out, that would change everything.  I don't think Butler can be as good as Horvath/Rankin on the edge, with speed & TD-ability.  Butler starts, we probably win.  Horvath+Salter, probably lose.

Quote from: GOLDMEMBER on Today at 03:46:36 AMwhat a waste of everyone's time.

"few mistakes, could have got off the field with better play" in that big EDM run-mostly drive. (end of the clip, if you couldn't stomach making it that far.)

Ya, couldn't possibly be Younger's scheme.  The D guys just didn't hustle to Rankin fast enough and tackle the league-best RB in open space well enough... Way to throw the players under the bus on that one.  I bet that's great for morale.

Why can't he EVER mention the scheme?  Why don't the reporters ask why the flat is ALWAYS wide open?  Why the edge is NEVER sealed?  Why Rankin has all day to let every edge guy get sealed so he can get to an easy 15Y gain.  Why is there no end-around pass-rusher / run-blitzer / gap-rusher getting through/around to catch Rankin from behind while he's taking 3s getting the blocks setup?  Why not ask why we didn't run blitz?  Why not ask why we went to the useless cover-2 soft zone on every 2nd down?  Why not ask where the beef was, and why they weren't filling up the LoS and flat to stop the run?  You know, like every other team does when they are getting ground-pounded?

Just once, ONCE, I'd give anything for MOS to go full Kavis in a presser after one of these losses.  Admit there are major problems, they aren't acceptable, and tell the fans they are working on it in a way they haven't yet tried!  Is that so hard?

Telling us the players will study harder in their 2 days of work this week is saying WE WILL DO THIS IN THE NEXT GAME TOO!
Never go full Johnston!

The problem with the "1% better each week" mantra is that 0 + 18 * 1% is only 18% good come game 18.  You know, like our D is right now, and our O has been most of the season.  I guess in that sense, the motto has been a huge success!  Yay us!  The 18 percenters.

Years ago a reporter asked James West which team he would like to meet in the playoffs...

He said "the best team available"

Hoping to play second stringers.... No thanks.

BC practice today, spread has now moved to -4.5
