Throw Long Bannatyne

Quote from: 3rdand1.5 on October 11, 2026, 10:17:58 PMBrady didn't get the rock, because Zach decided to change the play calls all game. I would venture to guess many plays were to go to Brady, but Zach decided f...it...I am doing things my way off what I see, and that is why our offence looked so different.....It was adlibbed by Zach vs. called by Condell.....

Yah Zach was calling his own shots often and going deep is his favourite number.  It worked for this game but we've seen many times when the DB's are expecting Zach to throw deep the results have been mixed with too many interceptions. I guess he should play how he wants in the final few games and we'll see where it takes them, focusing on Singer likely won't work that well again.

Quote from: Blueforlife on October 11, 2026, 05:20:48 PMI think by design to test Calgary's weak D and they did have changes on the back end, they were stacking the box and Zach go his man coverage down field and took what they were giving him.  We obviously also game planned this

Zach said on the ob post game that the whole game was basically rpo or Brady fakes.

I really didn't notice Zach sending Brady out like dru did so much. Good. Sending Brady out is stupid.

So Brady is still integral even if we don't give it to him.
Never go full Johnston!

Sending Brady out is one of the worst plays I have seen, mostly because of the frequency they did it earlier in the season.  Were you able to steal and burn those pages?

Quote from: Blue In BC on October 11, 2026, 10:43:04 PMWe know Brady is better and that's not the point. There are several issues including the fact he is nursing an injury and not practising.

From a game plan point of view, you can't do the same thing all the time and not expect the opponent to take it away from the offence.

Peterson is probably a better RB than MCI but doesn't play ST's.

If Brady gets knocked out of a game I suspect we'll have zero run game. That's the point and why we need Peterson on the roster.

Last year in game 1 Brady was knocked out of the game after 3 plays. Peterson was on the roster and rushed for 130 yards.

I don't doubt Peterson would be decent.  Just not worth the roster spot.  MCI would be a reasonable fill in but would be limited to shorter gains but he and Daniels could screen.

MCI has 8 carries in 3 seasons for 81 yards in total. He has 4 receptions for 32 yard in that time.

And he is on the roster because he can block and plays teams (12 tackles).  Like most FBs isn't used much but in a pinch would do ok.

Peterson would take someone off the AR that is more important than an insurance policy at RB.

We'll see how that goes if Brady is unable to finish any game. You're argument is that an ST players value that can't really play RB is more valuable than a RB that can't play ST.  At the moment that is a choice between Peterson and Bouliane who is only on the roster due to others being injured.  He's not a critical ST player.

As I've said many other teams have that 2nd RB. Those include the top teams and we're hovering near extinction.

Our RB can't even practice and has been less productive as a result.  Your risk analysis is skewed with your instance that NOBODY spells Brady for any reason.  You argue that MCI or Daniels could be used for screens but neither of those choices are being used.

I'd settle to have MCI take a few reps to create an alternate look for defences. Throw a screen to Daniels a couple of times.  Your the one that suggested they'd be adequate replacements.

The circular argument of fake news.  I am ok with Brady being spelled a bit by MCI. Bouliane made a play on teams last week I think and yes I take him over Peterson as he actually sees the field.  Other teams have two backs yes, but they don't have the king.  We will see who is on the roster this week but I doubt Peterson will be as the Bomber brass put a higher priority on a depth ST guy, which I agree.  ST is a third of the game and get more important in the playoffs and in the cold.

The only risk is if Brady goes down early, which we hope doesn't happen.

Guys, the reason we didn't hand it to Brady is because everyone plays our offense downhill, through the middle and taking away the short/intermediate passes.

This is because Brady can only run on the interior and up until now, our passing game has largely been short/medium passing because the pass protection is horrendous and Collaros/Brown aren't very good at pushing the ball down field. Collaros because he's old and rickety and Brown because it's never been his main strength.

The reason we were cooking in the first half is we essentially flipped the script by doing, pretty successfully, what we aren't very good at: deep shots down the field into one on one coverage because the defense wasn't scheming that.

Is it sustainable or even repeatable? Not sure. Probably not. But it may help you cost out whether Brady is worth the gold bricks we pay him if one of our best offensive outputs of the year was basically deploying him as decoy. And he still managed to fumble the freaking ball.

The reason we haven't been very good this year is because we're not very good. It was a fun game at stadium but there's a reason we don't typically go with that formula. It's not likely sustainable to do what we're not good at and win.

MP22: 66/329 yards, 5 yard avg. He's capable of stepping in for Brady when Brady is injured. MCI has outstanding speed, but is another young Bomber that is under utilized. With MCIs speed and size he has become one of our better teams players.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

You have specifically and repeatedly said no to Brady not getting spelled at any time.

Fake news x3 please stop saying lies.  I have specifically said not to spell Brady for Peterson.  You repeatedly make things up to try to push your narrative and make me appear to be wrong.  The game is old.

For the record for the 10th time maybe.

1. No to Peterson spelling Brady
2. No to Peterson on the AR
3. Yes to Demski runs (few), only if 100% healthy
4. Yes to MCI runs (few)
5. Yes to screens to Daniels and others
6. Yes to Peterson if Brady is below 80%
7. No to trading Brady
8. Spell him late and when up big
9. Rest him if game doesn't mean anything
10. Let him cook when hot
11. Yes to speed sweep
A debate can be had without spreading fake news.  A popular playbook with some, no place for it here.  100% fine we don't agree, not fine you state things I have said that are misleading.

You quote a post where I specifically say to spell Brady for MCI (claiming the opposite lol)

Quote from: Blueforlife on Today at 02:47:00 PMI am ok with Brady being spelled a bit by MCI.

Look at my posts on the issue over the last 2 months.  Been saying the same thing (numbered above) consistently. Yes I'm against spelling him in general but have stated the conditions, situations, players and plays that I would supppet it. The truth will set you free.  Wow.  You try consistently to paint me  one colour, I'm more of a mosaic than you give me credit for.

Well said, agree all. This is exactly why Peterson isn't on the AR. MCI is a good enough backup and a demon on teams.

From Dave Campbell:

#Elks are on the field for their first day a prep for the regular season home finale vs. Blue Bombers.  OL David Beard, DL Silas Hubert, and DE DK Bonhomme are not participating after suffering injuries in Friday's win over the Tiger-Cats.  DB Kordell Jackson is not on field as well.

RB Javon Leake and REC TJ Luther are on the field and are getting closer to a return.

Beard would be a big deal if out.  Those two guys on offense are pretty good.

You're the king of fake news. Printing a long list is just evasion.

I have mentioned Peterson as a rotational option or just about anybody else. I don't care who the other is but you haven't supported Brady every seeing the bench.

Most of us recognize that BO is not healthy and missing practice every week. In the last 2 weeks he's had less than 10 carries a game and less than 50 yards of production.

"Let him cook when he's hot". Why aren't we doing something when he's not? It will be no surprise when he sees little practice time this week. The only good news is that he had 2 of his best games against the Elks.
