You have to keep in mind that the 2027 team will be vastly different starting with the possibility that we have a change at QB. At the moment, it's not even 100% that Brown becomes the # 1 or # 2.

That has to be in the minds of any of our players that are pending free agents. Brady is not in that group, but aside from money, players want to be on winning teams.
I meant tank next 2 years

50% or better Brown is #1 imo but yes things will chance more than they say the same.  Brady wants to win, he will also want to stay home and finish his legacy.  There is a chance we can be decent in a couple years, enough to keep him around.  If we really tank like I said things change, maybe.

Two years is forever. We look at the downward trend versus what used to be an upward trend. Add in the big change at QB.

It is possible to turn a team around in an off season but it's not easy.

Every off season is the same. We look to see who are our free agents. Who do we want to keep at what cost. Who do we acquire of lose as a result of free agency.

Until we get past most of free agency it's impossible to really understand what the roster might look like.

OTOH the analysts before TC started ranked how teams would do and are usually fairly close to reality. We were not picked in the top 3 in the west.

Oliveria has 2 years left on his contract. He should be able to play at a high level ( barring injury ) for that long but the team may or may not do well either way.

Regardless whether he stays or goes I wouldn't expect him to be getting a larger contract past this one. Playing RB is one of the most violent positions on the body. Age is relentless even when lucky enough to not have serious injuries happen.

Two more years would be a 10 year career. Injured immediately in 2019, 2020 cancelled. That would be similar to the length of A. Harris career.

You can never tell but a 10 year career for any player at any position is uncommon.

Harris did play 12 seasons but those last 2 in Toronto were non events and he was more a back up and had some injuries.

I think has 2 good years left

That isn't really the question. There is nothing to suggest he can't play well for at least another 2 years. It all comes down to injuries in the future.

Keep in mind he got injured on the 3rd play of the 1st game in 2025 and missed the rest of that game and two more.

He's been fairly healthy as a RB. His injury early in 2019 as an ST player cost him the season was a blip.

I don't think his style of play is more likely to result in an injury per se. He's a downhill runner and not often making those jump cuts where we see some RB's end up with a knee, hamstring or achilles injury.

OTOH, he gets rolled up at times because of group tackles in traffic.

Getting rolled up by a 300lb plus might get him one day

A better OL reduces that risk. His style is a between the OT's. At the moment he runs a gauntlet of hits like a pinball being bounced back and forth.

It's no wonder he can never seem to practice much any more.

Waffler

He broke his leg first year here. It can happen anytime. He is otherwise VERY durable. Can play through injury and you'd never even know he had one. Not much talk about durability on this forum but I know the coaches love it.

True, Dedrick Mills played all 18 games last season and won the rushing title, but every other season he missed alot of games due to injury, participating in only 64 of 90 games.
