Quote from: Jesse on Today at 10:52:28 AMEven the second and 4 where Dru checks out - it's still on Condell to have a hot route for him to check it to but there were no receivers available for Dru to get it to in the time he had.

MOS addressed this on the coaches show by saying the Argo formation was set to stuff the box, so the receiver should be open on the outside. The problem was that as soon as Dru changed the call they dropped out of it. Bait and switch.

Just as Tecno was saying a few posts up, we have to think more moves ahead. That or as the caller on the show said, let Brady run over someone if the box is stuffed or not.

Struggles under Hogan = struggles under Condell, what is the one common denominator?

A struggling ZC8.  And zero desire to sit him when he struggles but can still take the field.

I'm all for loyalty playing vets over rooks when play is roughly equal, and a player not losing his position due to injury.

But I think that is over emphasized here, and vets are getting play when we have rooks that are better, and players are allowed to play when not 100%, putting them and the team at risk just to play the man card.

Decisions need to start being made regardless nameplates.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Quote from: bunker on Today at 01:44:25 AMSacks as percentage of passing plays for us are 36/444 = 8.1%. Ottawa is 24/567 = 4.2%. So were are giving up about twice the rate of sacks as the worst team in the league. With 3 imports on the O-line.

I'd point to that as the root cause of the offense's woes. I'll even go out on a limb and say that if Wpg's sack rate were the same as Ott's, the Bombers would have at least 2 more wins and would be 9-5 instead of 7-7.

I have no proof to back this up, I'm just asserting it.  :o

Sacks are also caused by quarterbacks.

Alexander, very mobile... good at getting away from pressure... less sacks.

Quote from: Stats Junkie on Today at 07:16:45 AM24 of 36 sacks were on 2nd down

3 on 2/4
3 on 2/6 (1 for 0 yards)
5 on 2/7 to 2/9
9 on 2/10 (1 safety touch, 1 F/L)
4 on 2/11 to 2/16
Thanks,! It really shows on 2nd down and 7 or above we dont execute or gameplan well
Also teAms are definitely utilizing that strategy against us without fear of having to pay for it

Sounds like a conversation they might have in the off-season, as for now, unlikely to change.

It seems the O-line is getting beat with speed and craft, haven't seen much evidence anyone of them is getting bulldozed back into the QB, as we've seen in the past. So where are the real trouble spots?

Stan has not practiced all year so something must be up with him, but evidence shows he gets blown by a few times every game.

Wallace is a great run blocker and nobody is ever going to overpower him, seems his weakness is letting the occasional rusher sneak by between him and Elsbury.

Elsbury is a physical big strong rookie who seems to be an decent snapper, I've read he's not the best at recognizing and making the O-line calls, but that's a skill that can improve with experience. The times I've seen him beat seems to come down to confusion in being outnumbered and blocking the wrong man and letting another slip by him when he's occupied.

Neufeld is steady as ever, I'd welcome him back next season.

Broxton is solid.
