The key to this game will be getting on Kelly early and often. It will be interesting to see who is practicing tomorrow. I am expecting to see Griffin and Wilson back on the field, even if it's just running. ZC8 is the other big question?

Toronto may be harder to defeat then I thought a couple of days ago. On the positive side they have no running game.

Our secondary may not be up all those deep shots Kelly likes.

Which Bombers are possibly returning or added to the IR is the question of the day.

Griffin has missed 5 games so I doubt he comes off early. IIRC he didn't practice last week when he would have been eligible, so that doesn't give me confidence he'll be back soon.

If Toronto can beat Edm with no running game, they can certainly beat us. Folks who say that Toronto isn't that good are forgetting that we aren't either.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

The Zipp

that was crazy stat towards the end of the game yesterday that showed zero rushing yards.

TO is a very solid team - they are rarely easy to beat.

Dial up the pass rush and batten down the cornerbacks, the Argos have some great YAC runners in Tyler Kahmann and Jake Herslow that play a similar style to Emulus and KSB in Sask. turning short to medium passes into big gains.  The Bomber secondary covers passes fairly well, but they tackle poorly.

Bombers were tackling somewhat better last game but they are not consistent game to game. I'd prefer they knock down more passes then allowing a catch and run for easy yardage.   We seem to allow a short pass that still creates YAC and 1st downs too often.

Going to need a good outing for all three phases to win

I keep thinking of... Coxie.  He is going to want play his best game of the year and wave at the crowd again. He has beaten us almost by himself in the past. We need to shut him down as much as possible.

What is the status of Collaros, is he a go or on IR?.

That was a weak penalty.

Oh boy, how many games is he going to miss this time?  I suppose the good news is Brown had his best game against the Argos earlier this year.

Stats Junkie

From Derek Taylor:

Lots of folks on the sidelines for the first day of Bombers practice:

  • QB Zach Collaros, RB Brady Oliveira, REC Nic Demski are all out. LT Stanley Bryant appears limited today.
  • DT Cam Lawson is out as well.
  • DE De'Shaan Dixon is back practicing. He's missed the last 12 games.
  • Collaros is here observing. He's been playing catch with guys during breaks in practice.
  • DB Michael Griffin is back practicing. He's been out 5 games with an ankle injury.
  • Griffin not working with the 1s. Wouldn't be surprised if he sits this week to finish his full 6-game stint.

About what expected. 5 vets, sitting is nothing new. Griffin practicing, expect him back next week. Nice to hear Dixon is back, but winning his job back from Fletcher is going to be tough.
