Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on September 17, 2026, 09:55:26 PMI'm beginning to doubt he'd make a great OC, he certainly has a good understanding of the game but he likes it played old school, which could look alot like a Chad Kelly offence.  Another factor, OC's may make $100k+ but I bet they don't make $200k.

I think top OC & DC are making $200-$300k.  You'd have to be a super-junior flyer OC to make around $100k.  Like us last season...

Condell didn't come cheap, and Buck was taking so much of the coach cap when here it was getting unsustainable.
Never go full Johnston!

Condell came for whatever they offered him, he was not wanted in Ottawa and had zero bargaining power left in the CFL. Maybe Zach convinced them he was the right guy, who knows...

I'd take ZC over Condell as an OC in a heartbeat. I feel he understands today's game better.

Quote from: theaardvark on September 17, 2026, 07:19:36 PMWith Dru getting the practice reps, I'm as comfortable with him behind C as with Zac, simply because there is less injury worry, and what happens IF he gets injured. A cold backup with no practice reps is not good.

Its not Ideal, but maybe we ride Dru for the rest of the season, let Zach be QB2,heal up and come back for the playoffs.  By then, Dru has built lots of reps and is comfortable, and Zach should be as healthy as possible.  So, we won't be Dinwiddied if Zach gets knocked out.

There's still a good chance the Bombers don't make the playoffs.  Anyways, letting Zach heal for a month and a half to come in cold for the playoffs would likely result in a disastrous outing from a QB who is already one of the worst starters in the league at this point in his career.

Looking at the current standings I think the odds are they will make the playoffs.  The Stamps and the Ti-Cats are falling too far behind, at the least the Bombers should qualify for the cross-over.

I don't know man, every thing we're seeing is as much Zach as it is Condell. It really feels like Zach's calling the shots during the games.
My wife is amazing!

I'm still nervous.  Stamps win tonight, and they'll be only 1 game back. That game vs them in a couple weeks will be huge.
I'm still hurting we gave up 3 TDs in the last 5 mins vs BC way back. It'll be real hard to win that tie breaker now.
We could also pray for a Rider collapse  ;D

We'd have a game in hand even if that happens.

Yes, and play each other still. CGY could still pass us if they beat us. As I said, that is a big game.

Yes that's possible. Having to make up 2 more wins in 5 games is not easy but if they win the tie breaker that would not be good for Winnipeg.

At this point of the season much depends on the health of a given roster. Every week will bring a new analysis of who is closing or widening the gap.

In the end, we still control our destiny. Just win and let the rest fall where it does.

The CGY and BC games are huge for us. Not only are they 4 point games, they are also who wins the season series.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.
