Really should have went for 2 to win it.

Would have caught Sask a little off guard.

Our chances in OT were maybe 30percent of making it out with a win

The 2PT attempt we have a 50/50 shot

In theory possibly true. In practice, if he caught it he may still have had to give up a rouge. Or he could have had anything from a bad, to good to missed FG return TD.  Fielding the missed FG at depth allows him to get up to speed and assess a route.

As pointed out the botched catch just gave the Riders a chance at a 2 point convert. Otherwise they just kick the PAT.

Keep in mind that O. Wilson wouldn't have been on the field which would have made the risk higher.

agree.  sometimes you go to ot and give it a shot...in this case given our defence go for the kill shot with the 2 point convert

With ties not being a thing anymore, I think the easy decision should be to go for two.

What is the incentive to go to OT?
My wife is amazing!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned with going for 2 is the tiebreaker.

If you go for two and win you are golden.

If you go for two and miss you lose by one, now you just need to beat the Riders in the Banjo Bowl to pretty much clinch the tie breaker.

They went to overtime and ended up losing by 6, now you need to clear them by a touchdown to get the tiebreaker.

I've had that pizza, it's disgusting.

Santa Lucia all day.

Congrats on the win though.

Going for 2 is the wrong choice. There's a good chance you don't make it and you give the game away. Going for 1 to force OT was the correct choice.

I'm not bummed out. I thought if we win 1 of the Edm, Mtl, Skn, Skn group we'd be lucky. We beat the best team in the league and took the 3rd best team to OT. 3 weeks ago, that didn't seem possible. Now I'm looking forward to the Banjo Bowl, where we should actually be favoured.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Ya, should have gone for 2 at the end of Regulation.
Would have made Mace & Riderville real pissed that they tried for 2 seconds earlier.

It's easy to say that we should have gone for 2 since we went for one and went into OT and lost.

Had we went for 2 and lost, people would say, should have taken the 1 and gone into OT and taken our chances.  I know some will say no, but I don't believe it.

Sometimes you just can't please people.

Vaval made a half-hearted attempt to catch the ball within a foot of the back of the endzone, I believe he only touched the ball with one hand.  Maybe the point did not seem important to him, but his brain was turned off at the time and he made a careless mistake. He's been remarkably right with a huge majority of past decisions which is rare for a young returner, but he sure goofed up this one.

Have to wonder if the extra work as DB is worth it even from a risk of injury standpoint, with nothing else on his mind he seems supercharged to prove himself every time he comes on the field as a returner. I guess we'll find out in the BB if they continue the experiment or they extend the full rope to Texada at CB. With KSB expected back within the week, the BB could be even more of a challenge for a secondary with a few too many inexperienced players.

We'll never know whether what he was instructed to do. It was a tight game and a single point was important to not concede.

I doubt playing DB impacted his thought process.

I think we all agree it was a mistake to field that ball, and it was probably apparent to him as well after the play (probably was clear to him in the first 1-2 seconds after the play). I think he was focused on returning the FG if it was missed; but then, in the moment, couldn't decide between fielding it and letting it go, got confused/indecisive for a split-second, tried to pull-back but it still hit his hand and rolled out.

Since he has been playing DB his return game has fallen off. He's not 100%. What's it been? 2 games?

it's not the same as a receiver doing both jobs. He is on the field the whole drive and returns a punt the next play. A receiver is on the bench resting before a punt.
