Clercius definitely getting his looks ramped up. I think he's out there more than cobb now. He's versatile and starting to come into his own a bit more.

Ike is basically a ST thing now, but man is he a demon. He's on return and cover, and clearly an important part of the scheme.

Our specialist Nats are shaping up very nicely.

He did take an early illegal block that put us deep in our zone. IIRC that resulted in a 2 and out with the Als getting good field position and then their 1st TD?

It seemed like a marginal penalty but those things can be fatal. Same as the Neufeld penalty that changed a TD opportunity to a FG.

Our Canadian receivers went 9/9 and 103 yards. Clercius and Nield 7/7, 86 yards. Nield made a couple of great catches, and made some very big blocks, but the fumble on the goal line will be what people focus on.   

He didn't really fumble the ball, he got absolutely cranked when he caught the ball, anyone would have fumbled the ball after that hit. He also made a great contested catch in tight coverage. Cripes everybody fumbles the ball...heck I recall Brady and Demski fumbling the ball at critical times too in a game, it just happens, doesn't mean they aren't good football players.

Was. He just doesn't exist anymore. If Zipp was trying to say that White is better than Schoen was in his peak, then that's ridiculous- though Tim has never missed a game.

That wasn't a TD. The guy just couldn't go a game without costing us points.

I think it was, but the nose of the ball got obscured by the hit.  I have the computer PVR remember, and I can do infinite interesting things.  I think the nose was literally on the line right when the hit obscures the ball.

I agree that if called they wouldn't overturn.  But ref by rule needs to see that ball over the line, or the physics of body placement making it impossible that it's not.  Neither occurred.

What could Nield have done?  It was a tough situation.  Knowing he was at the 1, he could have just not turned, and just dropped or absorbed the hit in the back.  If you know you got 1st down at the 1, just going down may be the most prudent course.  Tough to convince aggressive young REC of this, though -- the stat is much juicier for them.

Tim White is faster, has sweeter hands, and seems to be a better route runner.  Might be smarter too.  But absolutely no one was better at finding the soft spot or reading Zach's mind when the play breaks down.  AFAICT White runs his route and then gives up if he wasn't the read.

From my upcoming Tecno's Take:

1Q7:34 I thought "Ike doesn't make that IB mistake", and I don't think he did.  Refs see someone fall down with someone behind and they just flag a ST IB.  Ike never pushed him, in fact he tried to hold him up; it was their feet that collided, like an accidental DPI situation.  Not sure if that qualifies to be flagged.  Could have been challenged, but no way you figure that out in ~35s (I couldn't).  I think the MTL guy sold it a bit, too.
