Quote from: Jesse on August 27, 2026, 11:03:59 PMThey wouldn't have to change the ratio. They seem to be of the opinion that singer and Womack aren't good enough.

And to be fair, none of us know if they are any good.

On his podcast Bauming mentioned that Singer looks really sharp in practice.

I assume his knee is,shot., and for the record it takes about a year and a half so he's still in rehab or whatever he's doing, but I don't think he's coming back and yes, he would be an improvement over anything we have on the roster right now he even on one leg he helped Dempsey open up.

I thought you're really weird that they don't bring any Americans and especially during the break not that the best guys are available at this time but it will be cut down day arrives and it's just weird if you don't bring any guys in the guys got here are not very good in the Canadians or this is the worst group of Canadians we've ever had. It's really it's really odd. Are they trying to lose?Naw! They've been good in the past before and know how to recruit, but he's not doing much this year so very disappointing as it was way back when we better get off his *** cause he took the tickets next year.

If Schoen wants to try again I would welcome him back but not until 2027 TC, he's isn't going to change the trajectory this season.

No matter how low our team sinks, I'm gonna go with the coaches opinion over Baumings.

Sure that makes sense on paper. If Singer and Womack are not " good " potential players then why have we not brought in new players to compete for spots on the PR since TC?

It was pre determined before TC that we would be using 3 Canadian receivers. That was a change from what we have done for longer than I can remember.

Part of that was the need to have 3 import OL. None of that means we don't have quality players in reserve on the PR in case we have injuries to starters.

Now we are starting a Canadian at SAM which would allow us to add a 3rd import receiver if we want.

We have started 9 Nats the last few games, no?  No reason why we can't have another Int WR.  As long as we can get him onto the roster.

Ratio kills for starters, but also for AR.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

RE: Singer and Womack - you can either attribute it to the coaches patience of letting guys develop and not starting them a) before they're ready and/or b) before injuries give them an opportunity because we don't bench guys - or you can attribute it to being midseason and there's no one our scouts are targeting and is available that we see as an upgrade to those 2. Or both.

RE: the ratio. If we decided that the ratio is the ratio, why is Smith starting? The ratio has been changed already. And if you think that the coaches are watching Singer/Womack and view them as clearly better than Cobb or Neild but we're still starting 9 Canadians just because it was previously decided that we were playing with 3 NI receivers, then we might as well just quit now, because that's ridiculous.

Its not an issue of how many NATS you start that makes NAT Rec's a thing, but how many NATS you need on the roster.  You need Hazen out for Boulaine to get you Singer or Womack onto the AR.

What an irrelevant detail. Who cares which end of roster LB you have to switch out? Back end Americans have been moved on and off the roster all season.

Not what's keeping them off the roster.

Nope. All you need to do is take Hazen off the AR to add an import receiver. We don't need another ST player making it necessary to add back Bouliane.  We could if we wanted by taking a Canadian receiver off if we add an import receiver.

You have information from behind the Iron Curtain the coaches are not pleased with Singer?

Yeah. He's on the PR not the AR.

He's not worse than Cobb and everyone knows it -- he was just born on the south side of an arbitrary line. Yay CFL.

blue_or_die

The receivers are not the problem with the offense. The coordinator, oline and qb are.

But then you have an extra Rec who doesn't play tams, and are short an LB that does.
