Schoen

It's been about a year since Schoen blew out the knee again.  This is around the time those things heal up.  Do we have any updates or info on him at all?  Ya, I know we didn't re-sign him, but neither did anyone else.  If he hasn't retired yet, he may give it another shot.

And I think we'd be buyers: pro-rated end-of-year-only salary would be affordable.  No bonus, so we get full 6G protection if he blows the knee again, which is at least  50/50 shot.

Depends what Schoen we'd be getting. His health is a just a giant question mark. I would be afraid they bring him back out of loyalty and he can't do it. The fact that we have heard nothing probably means he is not attempting to come back in any case.

Sure, but look at how the Strev situation was handled.  Pretty much everyone, including Strev, was pretty upfront about the situation.  And then he officially retired.

With Schoen it's crickets.  He's pretty much a star name here, and a very popular player.  You'd think that would warrant more than, say, M.Miller's never-ending  injury before he retired.

As for caring what Schoen we get... who cares if there's no bonus and it's all 6-gameable?  We literally have nothing to lose in terms of SMS.  If he sucks you simply don't AR him and he quietly retires in FA.

The cost would be taking reps from our import starters who have done pretty well.  We are always saying more practice is better aren't we?  If we have an injury, touch wood, it would be a better idea.

A few major injuries, hasn't been healthy since the end of 2023. Not worth bringing back.

Jesse

If a return was anywhere on the horizon, we'd be hearing about him looking for workouts with teams.

Walters seemed pretty doubtful that a return was possible. I find it weird that people feel the need to bring it up every few weeks.

If we are looking for receivers I would think we would try to bring in Lewis rather then someone who hasn't played much since 2023

My thought is he'd take Nields spot. Imagine, a rec that can block AND catch. And be the best scramble rules rec this team has seen in a decade.

If this team is that desperate for help at receiver, Lewis would make way more sense than Schoen.
It's craptacular.

Also probably triple the price, and will want a big bonus.

And Lewis isn't a Schoen-like scramble rules wizard. He's a pokey type home run hitter. Which is the last thing we need more of, with a qb that can't throw more than 50y.

And whose to say he gets along with dru. You'd think that if dru loved Gino he'd already be here. There's a chance there's bad blood instead.

Of course Lewis would cost more. Duh. LOL

How would you get him on the roster? The Nield-Cobb-Corcoran dream team are just too elite. Best we could do it is put him on the practice roster and see if there's been any deviation in his attitude over the last year. That should take about 9 months.
