Don't believe I called anyone on here brain dead.  I give them more credit than that.  But I also believe young people who come here to perform and entertain fans should not be booed.  I doubt they are coming to antagonize fans attending the game.

But I can't use obtuse. And rules can change whenever it suits. Maybe I'll boo just because you said I shouldn't?

No individual was highlighted in my comment.  I think it is grossly unfair for a group of fans to boo a group of students who come to entertain them.  The students are essentially defenseless and I doubt many fans would go up to their face and boo them.

Nothing anyone can do with that but know that many more find in unacceptable and verbally bullying

It's worth remembering that Trumps approval rating has dropped to 33%. So only a small minority of Americans are happy with what he is doing in general. Whether that translates to Americans disapproving of his combative approach to Canada, I don't know. But anecdotally a lot of Americans I know are embarrassed by it. I think this is a time where it's worth making a distinction between a country's (temporary) government, and its people.
For most of my life relations were fairly good between the two countries, and I would be surprised if they didn't improve once Trump is gone. I think it would be unfair and a mistake to boo those kids on the field.

This is a tough one and the forum seams a little split on the topic.  I have enjoyed both sides presented as many have some very good arguments.

I don't agree with the use of the terminology "brain dead" used earlier and while it doesn't break the rules, it's not welcome imo. 

Booing is a hot topic as well, the forum has commented on that in the past. 

I hope these folks are given the very best treatment by a Province that prides itself on being friendly.  The Bombers and the CFL have always preached being inclusive and while its natural to have some reservations about this band, I would like to see us take the high road and use it as an opportunity to promote our Province, people and league.

Being respectful and reasonable with each other on the forum is always important, more so when there is a topic that devides us.  A difficult position we are in for sure, but there is opportunity in every challenge and I hope we can rise above this.

I would definitely question the brain power of anyone who goes after kids and young people verbally or physically and that is who we are talking about here.

I think it's an opportunity to explain the truth to the US band about negotiation failure and tariff's.   

Booing seems like a very inarticulate way to explain anything to anyone.

We are talking about booing a band from the United States on Canadian military appreciation night during a period of historic political tensions during a football game.

I would question the logic of anyone who big brains the situation into anything more than that.

Arenas are bread and circuses afterall, and santa gets hit by snowballs sometimes.

Pretending otherwise mistakes the situation (at best) or intentionally gaslights at worse, which I think is more insidious.

Keep in mind they aren't paid to be here. They are volunteering to perform for your pleasure. They probably paid their own money to be here. No kid going to UND is rich. These are salt of the earth Prairie kids from along the red River, just like we are. So because they are from 100 miles due south that somehow matters?

I find it funny that the holier than though Canadians are the ones that are always screaming diversity and tolerance, yet the first sign of a visitor they get their knickers in a wad. Nice tolerance. Hypocrites.

UND receives money from the Bombers for the bands travel and expenses. The kids do not pay for any of this out of there pockets. You would also be surprised how many kids attend UND come from rich family's. There are kids from all over the world attend UND just not kids from along the Red River. And, there a few kids in this band that are from Winnipeg.

I think it's a lot of talk. 99% of people are smart enough to know that these kids have nothing to do with the US government and there decisions.

But, yes I would good locking the thread.
