OC bad
DC fair
Team had been from bad to below average, imo, which are different imo lol

This is a bad team.  What more proof does one need?  There are so many signs.  As Doug said on the post game, 19 yards of offense in the second half is not a professional football team.

You take the good.

You take the bad.

You take them both, and there you have.

The facts of being a Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan for life.

I don't think you can blame the defense this game. Edmonton has enough talent to score points.

Collaros isn't good enough anymore to not have an amazing receiving core around him. And we don't have one. We have 3 #2 options, 1 3/4 options, and Cobb is the 5th. There's no big play receiver he can chuck up the ball to.

Quote from: Blue In BC on Today at 01:09:04 PMI wonder if the injury caught up to him in the 2nd half and his usage went down? He was a monster in the 1st half but how and when he was used in the 2nd half wasn't the same.

There are many reasons we lost but ineffective in the red zone really hurt. After the PI by Kelly it was all downhill.

Make a good point, with his health, might have hit a wall.

Scary part is, he's the 8th(?) best QB in the league. We're worse next year without him.

We were talking Brady

But yes, unless Brown shows better this year or early next Zach is still a much better option

That said I would likely move on from him unless he is cheap, has a monster 2nd half and we do something in the playoffs due to him.

Tough spot but also some promise in our next gen QBs.  Likely perfect time to retool and rebuild and make solid medium to long term plans as we navigate our next phase after a very good decade.

The whole team and coaches need to be better, and that includes Collaros. It's just not acceptable. They have a 5-5 record, but look like a losing team. The biggest issue I have with Collaros is he seems to be developing "Buck Pierce Syndrome". Where every time he gets tackled, at all, you wonder if he's going to get up. Sure he's a tough guy, just like Buck was, but it's just adding up on him. I think he got dinged again about halfway through this game and lost a lot of his effectiveness. I honestly wonder if hanging on to him and hoping he can last the year is the way to go here.

TBURGESS

The first half minus 3 minutes had me believing again, then Edmonton hit a switch and started playing better. The late TD made me worry. The 3 right after the half, upped that worry. The bunch of 2 and outs solidified the worry. By the time it came down to them needing a drive to win, I knew we were toast.

We owned them in the first half. They owned us in the second half. The better team won and the bad team went back to wondering what to do next.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

And that pretty much sums up the Bombers in 2026.

Quote from: blueandgoldguy on Today at 06:12:37 AMAnyone hear Mike O"Shea on the postgame show.  He seems completely indifferent to what is going on out there.  Gives off the impression that the Bombers shouldn't expect to win, but maybe they will have a chance.  Then again Mike with your philosophy of loyalty over actual playability and your inability to make sufficient changes these past 3 plus years I guess the fans shouldn't expect the Bombers to win either.

Don't listen to those post game interviews anymore... same old same old and he will never question or throw his coordinators or players for their calls or play making.  Too frustrating and not expecting any changes for the rest of the season.

I wondered about that too, the weeks of wear without proper recovery are taking their toll on his body, eventually he may have to sit out a week or two. Solution mix in a little MCI every game and maybe roster Peterson, diversify the run game to confuse opponents and preserve Brady.

The last 2 games he was barely used in the 2nd half. Part of that is on the defence adjusting but we just seem to go away from using him.

That hit seamed to impact his throws

Agree all but don't need to roster Peterson unless Brady out

Ya, I just don't get this. Our O line was absolutely dominating Edmonton's D line the first half, road grading and running and getting big yards at will, then its like we turned off the tap and had nothing. Our strength has always been our run game, and our weakness is our long passing game. Stick to the run game and dink and dunk passing game and we'll be ok.

I looked at it more like we caught them napping. On their minds was their bye week and the battle of Alberta after that.  Letting them back in late in the first half woke them up.
