My question is WHY DIDN'T WE RUN THE BALL MORE?

Forget all this trashing your leader, why didn't our OC call a better game?

You have Brady O .. RUN THE BALL! I just don't understand why we go away from it  ???

Quote from: Jesse on Today at 04:43:26 AMCan't think of a Pokey screw up tonight. Just Zach missing him when he was wide open.

Pokey could have caught that deep rail pass.  Kenny probably would have found a way.  He could have stopped and ladder-climbed to catch it away from the rail.  Or maybe Luke's idea would have worked: turn the opposite way.  It was a too-hot pass by Zach, but the best in the league could have done it -- especially since it was 100% uncontested, the REC could do literally anything they wanted.
Never go full Johnston!

The idea is YAC.  Like every other good team relies on.  Big body Nield one-on-one with a little bit of time to start moving should be a good YAC situation -- in theory.

But Nield sucks, so...

1st was bad then you agreed below average which is it lol

Changing the narrative and goal posts

He is below average not bad

Quote from: Blueforlife on Today at 04:42:00 AMWalters is an excellent GM.

You are an excellent GM until you are not.  Same with the coach.  Reasons can include complacency and loss of drive to achieve greatness.  Another reason is blind loyalty in the face of declining play.  There are other reasons of course, those are just a few.

Jim Popp had a record that Kyle Walters can only dream of at this point.  He was a great GM until he wasn't.  Driven out of the CFL after his failures in the latter seasons in Montreal and most of his Toronto stint.  Hasn't been heard of or seen since then.

Quote from: Blueforlife on Today at 04:45:29 AMHe adjusted wrong as well to that wide open deep shot but yes ball was bad for sure

When you're exactly where you're supposed to be, and the QB throws the ball out of bounds, I don't think you adjusted wrong.
My wife is amazing!

Walters has been consistently good to great

Quote from: Jesse on Today at 04:42:07 AMYou can study it all you want, if you think the refs call these things consistently, you're nuts.

It was a late hit and it would have put us on the 1 yard line. You throw that challenge every time.

But it wasn't the refs.  It was the refs AND COMMAND.  Command studied it and applied what they felt was their normal precedent-following decision.

If you throw that flag again, you will lose it again.  And I'm pretty sure MOS has learned his lesson now.

If I knew we were going to lose, then Mafia braintrust should have known.  And I knew it before MOS threw the challenge.  If I can know it, then WFC should know it.

Yes! I do not think we have the talented receivers we used to.  Is Demski still nicked up? I do think about how Lawler would catch many things that others would not make those catches.  We need more of those. We just don't have the talent at WR imo.

In a 9-team small league, below-average and bad are interchangeable.

Bad ball, possible to adjust better like Luke said.  Had time, Zach put him in a touch spot with over throw / outside. ~ 75% on Zach

Quote from: Sir Blue and Gold on Today at 04:38:26 AMCollaros is probably the 7th or 8th best starter in the league this year. That is bad by almost all definitions in a 9 team league.

Except Zach completely lit it up all 1st H.  He was looking like the league-best QB for nearly a half against what's supposed to be the league's best D!

Something changed.  Half of it was MOS & OC turtling way too soon instead of sticking with what was working (which was throwing on every first down).  The other half, I dunno, maybe Zach getting banged up a lot was leaving his internal gyroscope off-kilter.  That would explain the overthrows, etc.

So how can Zach be soooo good one half and total butt the other?  And does that make him butt?  Nah, it makes him a QB who for whatever reason lost all his mojo at halftime.

Below average doesn't not equal bad

Bad fair below average good great elite

Zach is not a bad QB, he is a hall of famer
