Good DBs do fake looking back -- just turn their heads without actually tracking the ball.  And it does influence when the refs call DPI.  If Kelly turns to look that'll likely not be DPI.

The red zone play calling is leaving something to be desired. We had chances for 3 more TD's and ended up with 2 FG's.

Kelly has had 2 really bad plays and one forced fumble. Shape up. We can't take a 50 yard PI.

I could have sworn Vaval had at least 1 play on defence?

Mafia & Condell went turtle on O for the last half of 2nd Q.  Almost no Brady runs on 1st down up until then, then all of a sudden 100% Brady run on 1st.

Clearly EDM will load the box on 1st in that case.  But we kept doing it as we just wanted to get out of the half.  And I don't know why... we had them on the ropes.

Maybe we thought we'd take advantage of a tired D.  But clearly they weren't tired enough.  Probably some heavy rotation.

I just see so many plays where the D does not look back and throws up their arms to block the catch.  That isn't allowed either - never mind contact.  Even without contact you can't just throw your arms up to break up the catch, and yet it happens all the time, and is NEVER called anymore.

That used to be PI.  I know I am arguing another only partially related point now, but that one really bothers me.  Not making a play for the ball at all, just watching the receiver and seeing the ball is coming based on their movements to make the catch and then throwing up their arms to block.

Sorry for the long rant.  It's been bothering me for years and this reminded me of it.

Good half of football for us. I'm pretty happy.  Zach is throwing well, D showed up and Sergio has a new record.  Keep it going in the 2nd half.

Perhaps Condell and Younger did some work last week.

For sure.  But that's an art good RECs take 3+ years to learn (some never do).  Can't expect that from a huge rookie TE.

The mistake was throwing to a TE that the D covered.  That pass is what you do when the TE gets out undetected.  Zach needs to know that.  Should have thrown it to Eli in the flat instead!

It's screening and it's in the book still... and yes, the CFL has not called screening in over a decade.  They simply do not care!

Like tandem blocking.  Both should be removed from the rule book.
