I'm not thrilled with our O-line but I think they've done a decent job run blocking much of the time. Some of the sacks are also not just on the O-line. Zach tends to hang on to the ball too long, and is not very mobile in the pocket. When you watch other QB's like Fajardo, Rourke or Alexander, they come under pressure also, but frequently escape it. When you watch the first 3 sacks last game, the blind side sack is not necessarily on the O-line. And the other 2 were partly related to Zach holding on to the ball, and not showing much escapability. Condell probably has a role to play somewhere in there as well. Not giving them a pass, but its a combined responsibility.

When have we ever done that? Oliveria is an inside runner. Teams that choose to stop that are able to accomplish that.

Zach is very slow when caught flat footed and in the last 2-3 years he tends not to use rollout motion which kept him safe in the past, it makes him a sitting duck for anyone with momentum on their side.

It's very predictable. We're in 2nd and long too often and he gets sacked waiting for a receiver to get open. The OC has to take that into account in play calling. Having to punt is a better option than taking a sack. Beyond that is the risk of injury to a break out rush from the opponent.

Running for 2 yards on 1st down is a killer. Teams know it's a tendency and often force a 2nd and long.

I agree we should see more roll outs. We should also integrate Daniels into the game plan.

I have zero, zilch, no faith in youngers systems this year. Fajardo, Rankin and Leake will do what the y want to do to us with minimal resistance.

No matter how well our offence does, or how well it may play, or how great Vaval plays the Edm. offence will move the ball at will against us and take any momentum we earn right back all night.....

I agree. The only thing that will stop the Edmonton offense, is the Edmonton offense screwing up - fumbling the ball away or Fajardo throwing multiple picks. I just don't see that happening. Our passive D will lay back and get ripped apart all game.

Argos did a good job of shutting down Rankin running as have other teams, he only found success later in the game as a receiver farther down field than would normally be expected.

Edmonton is good team playing a good game. They seem to be playing with intensity and an emergency that many teams don't have at this stage time will tell this is the stage we receive the second half dictate what kind of standings we're gonna have in the end, usually quarterbacks are hurt by this time and summer loss for a bit and that'll be the telling point luckily a whole bunch of guys are back from injury so that's good which provides for a good second half. It's just disappointing that the warmers haven't been any significant changes.

They're going with receivers that are poor. They have the worst receivers in at Ontario Wilson drop a new pass professional players don't drop and those Canadian guys did even play besides that one one pass that one Canadian guy got those same guys exactly when he's rolling out and then he gets screamed because none of those receivers get open. I don't think our scouting is doing very well. I can't seem to pick up some decent guys in the agency grabbed a couple guys you know from other teams and they're doing OK anyway I think it's gonna be a tough one for the boys in Edmonton.

Oliveria, Daniels, Eli, Ball and Bryant all not practising. No mention that Kramdi is practising.

Ball listed with achilles injury so that suggests he gone long term.  I'm guessing we add Stuart back to the AR.

Disappointed to hear about the other veterans not participating in practice. I have no idea what their status will be this week or this is just maintenance for several veterans.

Anyone see injuries to Daniels, Bryant or Eli?

Roulette wheel spin to pick whether we retain Hazen or flip to another PR player that doesn't see the field.

Boggles the mind.

No surprised about Ball. BO20 and Bryant are not 100%. So they will probably take a couple of days if not the rest of the week. Daniels and Eli didn't see anything during the game. Could be just a maintenance day.
Don't go through life looking in the rearview mirror.

Younger defence gets beaten up most games. We are the mail, not the hammer. It's pretty simple. We don't have a lot of hitters. We tackle the opponents RB after 7-8 yard games most plays. Then we have DBs, not even visible on the screen.  Fajardo will throw, flats, slants , and fumbles the ball. We might get shut out this one?

The elks defense is almost the opposite of ours, we try to keep everything in front of us and limit gains, because of this our secondary is rarely in position to make interceptions, The Elks
are very aggressive playing much tighter, and more physical.
They try to create turnovers vs hoping the other team makes a mistake.
If we want to beat them ball security is vital as they go after the ball every play.
Its obvious especially after Brady basically beat the redblackS that Edmonton will have a game plan to plug up.the middle and spy him. Our success will be based on our online and to game plan against this. And for Zac's sake protect that blindside.
Its beyond me how on second and long we don't have a scheme to offset the inevitable blitz .Zac's pre snap reads have to get better as well

Elks will be following Brady into the flats trying to knock down dump passes before they arrive, so they better come up with a different outlet.
