Congratulations to former Bomber Daniel Petermann on earning a spot on the Olympic team for flag football. Canadian men finished in third to qualify for the Olympics. They are coached by former Bomber coach Paul laPolice. The Canadian women also qualified winning the tournament with a victory over the USA.

Our women's team is very good.

Both the men and women should be favored to medal at the Olympics.

Also Daniel Vandervoort, Dequoy, and Michael O'Connor who was Rourke's Cdn. backup before he left for the NFL.

Jackson Tachinski ex-Bison QB and recent Bomber TC cut is also now involved with the team.

This is good, it was looking dodgy for a second there.  Leaving it until the last game to qualify.  I really like the idea of having a "2nd chance" at football for CFL retirees, some of whom quit because their bodies couldn't take the abuse of tackle football.

Hmm, now I'm wondering if Dequoy decided to retire because he had this lined up as his next gig?  If you think about it, flag football was designed for a guy like Dequoy.  He should be phenomenal.

Heck, with no hits, Milt should be playing!  ;D  ;D  I bet he's wishing they had this right after he retired!  A gold medal is as good as a GC ring!
Never go full Johnston!

Milt is not Canadian, and you can bet the US team has more players available than Canada by a factor of 100, and don't need a senior citizen like Milt (no disrespect intended)
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Yes, the American will come fully load with current NFL players for the Olympics. Canada's men's team will be in tough to win a medal unless they add some CFL stars which probably doesn't happen. Our women should pickup a medal.

In both flag and touch, you have to be able to run. Plus in them Canadian game it's twenty seconds between plays. The clock starts when the. Ref places the ball at the l.o.s..

It's a great game , sort of like basketball on grass. Of course you have timeto huddle but the 20 seconds goes by fast. Furthermore, I think Canada went no huddle on one of the hi lights. But if you are doing  3 or 4. Flys, the WR will be tired.

One comment about Milt playing? Don't kid yourself. There can be a lot of injuries to legs in the game. So the guys have to be flexible.  Winnioeg has the biggest flag and touch league in Canada. However with  probably 3x the U iversitys in the east, many of the players come from there.

I believe Quebec woman have been playing at the college level  since the 70's.

The outdoor season is winding how about mid September? The indoor league out of the university of Manitoba and the Garden City Sportsplex starts probably early October and you can look up the Pitt league players indoor touch league on the website or rather just google it and John Franklin a guy to talk to he's the guy that's been running it for the past 10 years or so and doing a great job they have over 100 teams and it's 515. They play games basically Thursday and Friday and Saturday night nights so maybe wants to play give the indoor or the pit league a call and get information. Website and have all kinds of information there.

Flag football is great for Gen Zs and Alphas that don't like to be touched and have their feelings hurt even when you compliment them.. LOL
