Quote from: dd on August 16, 2026, 01:59:08 AMGood thing we let him go, he has the catch of the year and Wilson drops a sure thing. Pretty much sums up 2026 for us.

Wheatie dropped a sure thing later in the game.  All he had to do was dive for it again.  Ya, not as easy as the Pokey drop, but still catchable.

The problem with Wheatie is he's like Kenny-lite.  You don't need 2 of those guys on a team.  You need differentiation in talents.  We liked Pokey better (and we were correct), and that's ok.

How about both Wheatie and Myron getting their 1st HAM TDs, eh?  Always good to see our scouting finds doing ok.
Never go full Johnston!

HAHAHA EAT IT SSK!

This was their trap game.  And a true trap game too, because they couldn't lose.  I wonder what the betting odds were.  Some people lost a lot of money on the sure thing, and some people made a ton of easy $ on HAM.

In some ways it's more embarrassing than our BC loss to Salter.  Our was embarrassing, as 4th in the W is supposed to beat 5th in the W with no QB, but this is SUPER EMBARRASSING for SSK because they are #2 in the league (yes, they are better than EDM) and GC champs!  Facing a 2nd-worst team with no real QB!

There are some CKRM callers vibrating tonight, that's for sure.

Thanks for doing us a solid HAM!  Always nice to see an East team beat our div rivals.

Everyone needs to note all the cheating SSK does.  Boy I hope we get ref Cmdr Data (McInnes) when we face SSK -- he doesn't put up with all that SSK crap.

I'm talking all the little OL movements they do on ST and SY plays.  They are hand moving, head nodding, body leaning by that OL; and no I'm not talking the C.  They do little twitch things to try to draw the D to get the free conversion.

Refs got 1 right, but got another one wrong.

We must coach our guys up on not falling for their cheating.

The absolute craziest thing right now is we are one win away from tying SSK -- both of us with 9 GP.

Who would have thought that 3 weeks ago??  If only WPG could suddenly be good/great, we could actually win the W!
Never go full Johnston!

No team this year is invincible. We just have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and we can beat any team.

So sick of that BS, hope they make attempts to draw offside into delay of game penalties next season. Mace comes off as the sleaziest operator in the CFL and I now despise Tommy Stevens more than any human alive not named Trump.

Wheatfall is thriving with Lawler drawing coverages.

But on that "catch of the week", two issues.

One, it hit the ground, it was a trapped ball.  Most of the views shielded the hands, but one showed it plain as day.

Two, he removed his bucket to celebrate.  That's "objectionable conduct" every day of the week in the CFL.  No call.

Ford pulled a rabbit out of the hat, and Harris pooped the bed while Ford did his magic.

Now who starts in Hamilton?  If Frost is out for injury, Ford is a no brainer.  But if Frost is cleared, what do thy do?  Frost looked good until he went out, but Ford was better.

Can you sit Frost after injury?

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

TBURGESS

Funny that Ford is the only Hammy QB to win a game since BLM went down and he's now won 2.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

That game seemed significantly odd, no emotion from either side over the Ti-Cat win, it just happened.

Frost was pulled for undisclosed reason or unseen injury???

Milanovich gambles on 3rd and 6 from around the Rider 38 and turns the ball over when 3 pts. would have put them within a TD of the Riders.

Careful and studious Trevor Harris throwing interceptions indiscriminately in the last 5 minutes until a Ti-Cat DB was finally able to hold onto one and seal the Riders fate, oh well.

I'm polishing my tin-foil hat now in preparation of the Rourke/Alexander Grey Cup Showdown in the fall.  Don't know how, but somehow....

I was wondering the same thing when Wheatfall pulled off his helmet. I thought that was an automatic penalty.

It is, and should have been called.

I believe Wheatfall's reception was legitimate as it was caught in the end zone thus reviewed by the Command Centre plus I never saw it touch the ground.

It was a nice catch but extended like that, simple physics say the momentum of the ball drives it into the turf, but whatever, it was a scoring play so CC reviewed and said it was legit, no surprise there if they get it wrong. The thing that miffed me and others, is he can't rip his helmet off and give the death stare to everyone, that's an OC all day long and it wasn't called so lots wasn't called on that play.

Don't see nearly as many helmets popping off this season, I guess rule change forced them to strap them on tighter.
