He gave up the winning TD against Montreal in the last minute of the game. BTW if Parker had made a stop on third down we would have beaten Montreal that year.

Ya that loss is on parker, not Houston. Houston was maybe 3 inches from a batdown. Parker was completely lost in space.

And Willie "slipping" on the Cody run the play before.

So many chances to win...
Never go full Johnston!

Possibly. Along with 11 other players IIRC.

Rider fans want Houston and maybe Gino in a bad way. They have too many star player injuries right now.

I could see the move, but ssk is already in cap heck right now.

Someone could make a preemptive move for Houston to stop them... But we don't need him.

Does SSK have any cap space?  Are any of their injuries 6 game recoup yet?  Or are they going to need to bring them off early, like Zach?

They either are in cap hell, or ratio hell, or expect players back, otherwise, Lewis would be on the roster.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

That's all pure speculation. We don't have any idea when or if players may come off the 6 game IR. They may be taken off early, extended or be finished for the season. How much SMS ends up sheltered is the same issue for every team.

That's no different for the Bombers. Do we know whether Kramdi will come off the 6 game IR early or finish the sting?

Even the suggestion that Lewis would be on the Rider roster in any circumstance is BS and just another conspiracy type discussion.

Rider have 13 players on their 6 game IR. It was mentioned in the last broadcast that at least one player was finished for the season. OTOH, the Lions have 14, so how did the Riders come to the top of a destination?

The reality is we have no idea which team is " SMS hell " but these conversations come up all the time.

Sask is in sms heck because that's what happens to GC winning teams, and most GMs aren't as frugal as KW. Word over there is every FA they didn't let walk got a raise. Some got huge raises.

Now, I'm not saying they are over. But they certainly are tight to the cap. Yes they will get a lot of savings from the 6g. But if you hire Gino, who is clearly waiting for a massive bidding war payday, then IMHO that will put them over.

The problem with Gino, is he'll demand a massive bonus, and I think the only way you justify it is if you really want him as part of your long term plans. While I think many teams who are short recs would want a rental, not sure many want him for 3 years at Kenny type prices.

I think you're over-rating Geno at this point in his carreer. He's 33, and didn't produce for Ottawa. He can still help a team, but I think his massive bonus days are behind him.

Lewis wasn't even the highest paid receiver on the RedBlacks in 2025, he was behind Justin Hardy and paid about the same as Demski and Tim White, which should cause some wonder.

6) Eugene Lewis, Ottawa Redblacks (A)

Hard money: $223,000
Maximum value: $226,000

The seven-year veteran got a $100,000 signing bonus to head to the nation's capital where he'll look to earn his fourth career All-CFL selection. Lewis will also make $94,300 in base salary, $14,700 in housing money, $10,000 in marketing money, and a $4,000 travel allowance. The 31-year-old native of Norristown, Pa. can also earn a $3,000 bonus if he's named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player.

I think your wrong on all counts. We're only at game 9 and a lot can happen before then.
