He hasn't deemed Ford hopeless; he pulled him like he pulled BLM last year. Ford will get more chances.

When does Ford stop getting "chances"?  Surely there has to be an end.  Surely he'll eventually be relegated to #2 status, and never got more than 1.5 weeks of step-in duty before a team airlifts a real guy.

I saw Scott will only put Ford back in if his other options suck worse.  That may indeed come to pass.  But I won't bet on it.  HAM would probably still be super thrilled to buy Zach (or maybe Dru) off us somehow.

Sinopoli got a lot less "chances" at QB and had a great career.

Does Tre have the hands for a receiver?  Can he return punts?  Is he as good a DB as his brother?  Is he a scatback?

VAJ looked like a starting QB in his first opportunity. He was never at a Ford level. Teams have always tried to upgrade on VAJ if given the opportunity, But from 2019 on, he's being average starter at worst.

I don't think VAJ came into his own til '23 in BC. Before that, he showed lots of flashes, but no consistency. 

Ford shows flashes too, specifically with his legs. He has great arm strength with no accuracy. He hasn't learned to read defenses either, but he'll still get chances based on athletic ability alone.

Yes, players develop at different rates, and will have flash games where they match up against a defence they can beat, and then get beat down the next week.

Yes, Ford had a weak Edm team, hard to fly with the eagles when you team is flocking turkeys.

31 TD vs. 22 INT is not bad. 

But he needs an OC that can scheme for him, and an HC that believes in him.  In Ham he's a backup at best, and the OC is adapting the scheme for him, limited packages I'd bet.  Frost fits the Mitchell playbook better, and if he hadn't gone to the UFL, Ford never gets a job in Hamilton.

Might he find his stride?  Not in Hamilton.  Is there a GM/HC/OC that will bet on him being the ratio breaker he can be?  Unless its desperation, I don't see it happening.

VAJ looked like a great young talent in his rookie year in 2016. He looked like a great up and comer in 2019 when he got his first starting opportunity. And he took it to another level in 2023. Comparing veterans in their peak to their developing selves doesn't mean they weren't of starting quality.

I don't know if Ford is still developing. Milanovich is doing exactly what he did to Bo though. You play the way I call it or you sit down. It's not punishment or giving up on the player, it's meeting the expectations or you don't play. We'll see if Ford can rise up the way Bo did.

Adams had established himself as a starter by year 4. Ford is in year 5 and despite multiple chances still hasn't shown he can play QB. Heck Adams showed more in college too at a much higher level.

Ford is a high level athlete who can't throw the ball or read a defense well enough to be a starting QB.
