Why is it coached abandon Tre so quickly?

I'm curious if it is the wrong coaches, or the wrong attitude?  Does he say something coming off the field that makes the coaches reach for the hook?  Because it sure seems that way.

He seems to have tools, and the coach was praising his speed. But he got pulled before the end of the second half.  For Frost, who hasn't been there more than a cup of coffee.

Was Tre given a super short leash because Frost is the guy they want?

Frost appeared better in his short time back in Hamilton. Take that for what it's worth. Ford is not a pocket QB although he is trying to pass before taking off running. His time as a potential QB is running out. If he was an import he'd have been released before now.

Maybe he needs to shift positions to a DB like his brother. Speed can make up for more mistakes than at QB.

I don't understand the demotion/benching of Ford, he had the game of his life a couple of weeks ago, so he's shown he can get it done and play very well, better than the Qb play we've seen of late for sure. Not sure if Milanovich wants certain plays executed and he's not getting it done or what, but I feel for the guy, he's been kicked around quite a bit and his strength is scrambling so design roll out plays where he buys time for his receivers to get seriously open vs traditional offensive plays.

Given where we're at right now with Brown and Elgersma, I'd take Ford in a heartbeat and he'd get things done for us here. The other 2 never will.

Tre Ford can't play quarterback as a professional quarterback. He never has. He probably never will. Every coach he's had professionally has ultimately came to the same conclusion. He's an A+ athlete playing the wrong position.

Hard to know what is going on.  Was surprised at his exit.

Commentators said at 1st was to get a look from the sidelines but then that narrative died when he didn't come back in.

He appeared to be taking small but noticeable steps in his development, I personally would have kept him in.  Next game will be telling.

Suggesting the other 2 never will get it done isn't fair.  Brown is what he is an average QB.  Proven he can win, can't stay healthy.

He can play pro QB just not very well (yet?), lacks consistency and his passing is weak.  Has shown flashes this year.  Yes has had a very long time to prove he can do it, but perhaps he is just a decent backup.  This year will likely determine a lot in terms of what's next.

I think you are being a little hard on him here.  Jury us out, I'm not sold but his stock went up and now back down to earth.

Google tells me he is an 11-14 QB which likely would have been swapped if he wasn't on a very bad Edm team to start.  But overall as it stands he is below 500 QB which shows he struggles but also shows he can win at the pro level sometimes. 

I wouldn't think a position change for him is in the cards.  If he can't develop his passing, he could always find a way to contribute with his legs.  Like Strev, while not traditional QBs they can carve out a niche career with some success and contributions to the team and league.

I was thinking if we would be better off with Ford here, overall happy with our room but his mobility is at least exciting.  Always been a fan and want him to succeed.  Not sure that will ever come in the air.

The league would really benefit if he could put it together.

I don't agree often with people saying they only play because they are CDN.  Sometimes true for depth and teams guys and yes the ratio plays a role but more often than not players are on the AR due to their skills imo.  Hard to crack a CFL roster in any role.

Didn't watch enough to make an opinion of Frost but from what I seen did ok.  What's his story? Just came to the league?

Ford has always brought a polarizing discussion and its a good one to debate.

He hasn't been a polarizing discussion to anyone but a few fans. All his coaches come to the same conclusion.

You can't run around like a lunatic and play quarterback professionally. You can't design an offense around that. You can't run systems through it.

It's not really a debate because there is a correct answer in this case. You may feel it's a discussion if you can't understand the difference.

Frost was with Hamilton 2024, 2025, was released Feb 2026, did the UFL thing, and finally became available recently (not sure how UFL contracts end).

Have to wonder if they were deciding on if they can afford to cut Tre, with the vet cut day rapidly approaching.  Don't think there is much trade value...

There have been many QB's that have switched positions in the past. It appears Ford's chances at QB have dwindled. He is a top athlete and changing his role might be advisable.
