Brown, not sure what he hurt
Kelly came out briefly
Who am I missing?

Blue In BC

Brown hurt his lower left back after taking a shot. In theory he should be ok after the bye. Whether Collaros is ready to return I'm doubtful mostly because I can't believe anything O'Shea says about injuries.

I do believe Broxton will return but what that does to the look of the OL is the current debate.

No new injuries besides Brown that I saw or heard about.

Time to switch Stan with Broxton and send Stan to the 6 game in place of Vanterpool till later in the season so he can refresh and refocus, give him one last chance to take his job back. Don't sweat the 6 game rules, everybody is sore.

It depends on the health of Broxton but yes I would make that change. Since he wouldn't be able to practice it would seem unlikely he'd win back his job barring injury at OT. Poncious is an OT isn't he.

I'm not done my rewatch yet, but I'm not sure Vant will be serviceable at RT.  However, the question isn't is Vant better than Broxton at RT... the question is is Brox+Vant better than Stan+Brox.  Since Broxton clearly isn't nearly as good at RT as LT, we can afford Vant to be worse than Brox at RT and the gestalt will still be superior.

There's a possibility Vant is a bit worse at RT pass pro but far inferior at run block.  Broxton has been working basically nonstop to learn the swing-around and seal-block RT role.  That will kinda all be wasted if he shifts to LT, which is more a sealing role in the run.

It will take a ton of evidence, and nads of steel for Mafia to bench Stan.  I'm not sure they have it in them.  You'd probably have to take the "influencers" in the team aside first, too, and show them the film on how Stan is costing the team.  You don't want a Zach/Brady/Neuf revolt.

I'll finish my grading of the last game and then do a summary of all recent games regarding Stan's performance.  I want some solid proof he's total butt before agreeing with what is rapidly becoming the consensus around here.

That's messed up as that should be padded and protected.  Holding his hip makes more sense -- hip isn't protected and seems to be an issue for many players.

I guess we'll see what the IR report in 1 week says.  Clearly you need either Zach or Dru back.  Preferably both.  Who's the next-most glass QB?  Maybe we can hire him and make it a trifecta of tub-bound QBs!!

Some interesting takes and good we don't have anyone else hurt.

Stan will remain.  How the OL shuffles the deck otherwise, I have now clue as I don't have the knowledge that other do buy enjoyed learning here.

Techno the trifecta joke was pretty funny.

Blue In BC

Last weeks IR report showed Broxton, Bryant and Vanterpool all having some issues with knee injuries. Obviously Broxton went onto the IR, Vanterpool came off of IR.

Has Bryant been nursing an injury which has limited his performance. Other injuries may have limited choices as far as him not playing in the last game. He has not been himself all season IMO.

The suggestion to remove him is based on recent performance but the injury question may be the cause.

We haven't seen Pontious in a real game so we can't really say he's a better short or long term solution at either OT.

Again, our next opponent is the Redblacks who aren't a top defensive team. If there is a question of health at OT, then maybe a temporary change should be considered.

Tough call when we don't even know if Broxton will be ready for the next game.

Bryant needs rest and recuperation.

Whether he's just worn out, or has a nagging injury, he's getting beat and taking penalties.  This is not a hall of fame year for him.

6 game, and pull early if he gets better AND we need him.

He may not accept the 6 game IR but I get the point. I'd be more inclined to RR him so he can continue to practice and be available when or if healthy. SMS is an issue but so is team PR.

That's why I said earlier that if Stan is nursing a nick then mafia needs to come out and say it. Now.

They are destroying his reputation and making him the punching bag by not doing so.

It's not an excuse, but it will buy everyone some grace. And it can also allow us to discuss 6Ging him.

How on earth are we supposed to think about the future of the OL if we don't know the real deal about Stan.

And by keeping silent it will just confirm there is no injury and that he really is legit bad now.

If Stan is nicked bad and staying in because everyone knows there is no other option with Broxton out, then he might be outplaying his status and should be considered a hero!

This is why it needs to be publicly discussed.

It's more likely that Stan's age caught up to him than that he's injured. It happens to all of us.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Agree. There is no injury just age affecting him. He's miles slower and no where near as strong as he once was and gets beat or  pancaked regularly

That was this past week. He's been struggling all season. And going back  the last couple of years, you can tell he's not the same guy.
My wife is amazing!

Well at least they are acknowledging he's nicked. They should give details so everyone doesn't just hate on him.

Keep in mind DNP means nothing for Stan though. He gets all the vet days he could every wish for.

It all starts with whether Broxton plays in the next game. If not all other bets are off.

I think I mentioned I don't expect Collaros to play either. O'Shea always throws up a smokescreen about injuries and length of time on the IR.

It won't surprise me at all if he spends the entire 6 game IR time period. Hopefully I'm wrong but even so how long will he last with all the hits both QB's are taking?

We haven't heard anything about the rehab for either Bond or Schoen. It didn't seem clear that neither would be deciding to retire from football. Some expectations would be that by September either might be healthy again.

Although neither is currently on our IR roster, what is the news if any?

No news yet.  If Bonds was available this instant I'd probably cut Moxey and instantly start Bonds.  Too bad Bonds isn't HB, or we could bench Nichols.  Since this is Bonds first big injury in the CFL, he shouldn't be considered a Schoen/Strevy-type write off.

As for Schoen, I would totally add him as a late-season flyer if he is suddenly able.  But every contract has to be based on incentives, as we all know it's 75% chance he ruins the knee again.  And this is all assuming he can still run like he used to.

It would be tough to get Schoen on the field though (ratio...), but it would be good vet depth.

Not sure why we keep hearing Schoen's name. Everything that has been shared has indicated that he won't be back. Not sure why that would change halfway through his rehab. He will likely never play again.

You want a vet import? Sign Lewis. He had a 1000 yards the last two seasons instead of two separate devastating knee injuries.

We heard that we wouldn't discount bringing him back when he was healthy. His injury was a year ago so in theory he could be looking for a return at some point.

No one has said squat about Schoen, including Schoen.  Everything "said" is just pundit and fan speculation.  He's only 29, and this would have been his 5th season.  That's totally an age at which you can still recover from knee problems.

That said, I'm not betting no his return.  I just hope if he does, it's here.

I think Clark is eligible to be removed from the 6 game IR. I don't think he gets added to the AR unless we had a Canadian ST injury. I suppose that means he gets bumped to the PR if there is room.

To replace Griffin on the roster I think it comes down to Jackson or Hazen as a toss up. Just a guess on my part but I think Jackson might be a better fit at the moment.

There hasn't been any notice of replacement bodies being brought in for the PR, but maybe something is in the works. NFL cuts should be starting soon. I'd like to see a couple more LB's and DB's in particular being brought in based on injuries.
