I didn't notice before, in the MOS presser near the end MOS basically spells out that the plan (methinks "whole plan", but MOS said "part") was to specifically have a no-turnover O.  There's the proof we needed that the book was slashed so Dru could not throw any deep shots (or intermediates) that could be INT'd.  They took all the risky stuff away, and made sure he knew even the short stuff had to be 100% before he pulled the trigger.

That's why we lost.  BC figured this out by the 2nd Q.

We needed to spy the QB more.  It felt like they managed to identify and neutralize our spy. 

This is where a Kramdi helps.  He is a high IQ that hits a ton.  I'd put him in as spy on any QB, any day of the week.

Well our offence didn't score 2 early TD's and settled for FG's instead. Early momentum failed in that sense. Overall we struggled to move the ball consistently, took some penalties which didn't help.

However, yes the defence took the day off and were mostly responsible for the loss.

The long runs by Horvath had nothing to do with spying the QB. He had some big important runs but Horvath ran up the middle and outside for monster gains. 191 yards and 3 TD's. That alone, either or both were certainly be cause for defeat.

You don't kick FG's instead of TDs and you win the game.

We were down 7-6 at the half. Was the offence the offence or defence doing it's job at that point?

We were up 16-10 after the 3rd quarter. Is 16 points a good performance for the O?

With 6 minutes left in the game, we were up 19-13. Is it reasonable to ask the offence to maintain some possession time and run down the clock? Even after we let them score and were down 20-19, is it unreasonable to ask them to score one more time? Or un the clock down while at least getting into FG range?

Giant fail by the offence in that game.

We were winning 16-10 at the end of the third, then gave up 25 points in the 4th quarter, giving up 25 points in 1 quarter is awful no matter which way you slice it. We beat Hamilton scoring less than 20 points, so if our D doesn't give up a games worth of points in the final quarter, that would have gone a long way to helping us win. You give up 35 points, you don't win many games, nor do you win many games scoring 16, so both inept units are to blame.

Because after the 4-INT game the braintrust decided this was going to be a no-INT no-risk no-deep game.  That, and BC's D is better than OTT's.

It's both.  O basically went 2 & out every possession after Dru left.  MOS said it: D got tired.  Willie also did a rare finger-point and blamed the O for not scoring when they could -- said doing so has a "snowball" effect.  He's not wrong.

Just like in the cups we lost: O needs to move the ball when up in the 4th.  It's been a major problem for ages.  Teams stop Brady in the late 4th knowing our goal is to run and bleed clock.  Brady just isn't AH33.

The least the O could do after the big TD run in the 4th was move the ball and show we're still in it.  But they went 2&out and everyone in the world knew we were then going to lose.  The O isn't great when Zach is in.  The O is worse when Dru is in.  The O is league-worst when Elgs is in.

And people said Strev was bad!!

You're right when dru went out our offense was non existent, elgersma proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he should never see another snap this year put Perkins in and save elgersma from further embarrassing  himself. I can't believe all the hype this bum got

Yep, they almost need a QB like Tre Ford they can throw in when plans fall apart and let him run wild instead of trying to force him to conform to the exact same game plan.  It totally worked for BC, maybe Perkins could fill that same role.

Chances are they're losing the game anyway, but at least with a wild card the fans are entertained and the other team is thrown an unpredictable curve they might not be prepared to contend with.
