Zach is going nowhere other than retirement when he is ready.  Paying 10 to 1 odds he isn't traded.  Less confident about his ability to stay healthy.

I don't think Brown wil ever reach Zach's level but hope I'm wrong.  Brown will be good this year and has a chance to be great.  Brown hasn't proven his ability to stay healthy.
Its not all about Zach. Its great he brought us 2 grey cups, but he is being paid very well for what he does, and ultimately, what's best for the team should come first. Whether that's playing Dru or Zach will become clearer as the season progresses.

What's best for the team is to have two GC ready QBs imo.

Zach's inconsistent play has been a factor for the past couple of seasons.  I mean he started the game by throwing a pick on the very first offensive play and the Cats scored quickly thereafter with great field position.  Before this game he was ranked 8th statistically amongst CFL QBs and that's not good enough to win the West.
Yet we all know that MOS is a Zach fan and thinks he's still the best QB in the league which he's not.    There was a time but that time has passed.    Both Elgersma and Brown looked better under centre than did Zach but that won't matter and if Zach is really ready and healthy he will start against the RBs.
That's just how MOS works....which imho isn't always in the best interests of the team despite his "team first" philosophy.
The potential high drama of Dru actually starting against his former team after being snubbed by Dinwiddie will likely NOT happen if Zach is healthy.    That being said and IF Zach starts and we end up losing to the 0-5 RBs we'll maybe see a change....but even then I doubt it!  It will likely take another injury to Zach for Dru to play unless of course he's really not ready and 100% healthy.
I hope I'm dead wrong on this however we are paying Zach over 500K and his performance and lack of production doesn't match this salary level!

The only way this team will work is if u have a clearly defined #1 qb, In ust about every case including the most recent, Ottawa it causes big distractions
Look at BC with Rourke and Adams as another example.
OShea will make it clear that if Zac is healthy he is that guy, Dru knows this.

If it gets to the point where Zac cant be that guy then it will have to be a clear cut decision to move on

I think that time has come....I'm sure the Bomber brass is looking over the qb situation carefully, and the right decisions regarding the future betterment of the club will be made

Works well but after every loss this QB debate will resurface, I see the upcoming game against the Stamps as an early litmus test.  As we saw last night the Stamps don't have a hope in hell of beating the Als with a healthy Alexander, so they're likely a 2nd tier team with potential to have big games.

Can the Bombers beat the Stamps playing with a healthy D-line with Zach at QB? He'll have to improve his escape ability a lot to do so. Will O'Shea just accept the status of being a 2nd tier team while losing every game to the most competitive teams as the past 2 seasons have trended towards a new norm?

There is no possible scenario that MOS says Zach is not his #1.  If he doesn't play it will be because Brown is healthier.

I would think ZC8 leash is a little shorter now.

Aside from Hamilton and Ottawa anyone can beat anyone on any given night. I d say we can run with anyone and it really comes down to the turnover game. Montreal and Sask are tough at home but definitely beatable.

You're probably right and I think O'Shea's loyalty is charming but QB is the one position where he needs to put that aside and play the best player today. There's no room for error at that spot and things could easily sour depending on what happens now.
