Blue In BC

I just re-watched the game on PVR. Collaros was blindsided obviously. I don't think he was injured per se but the team is very cautious with his concussion history.

When the daily IR report comes out, I don't think he'll be listed as a DNP on a short week, but we'll see.

The injury to BLM was horrible. His surgery was successful but that may be a career ending situation with his age and possible extended recovery time.

Heck of a way to finish a possible season and / or career.

Could the TiCats be looking to trade for Arbuckle?  I can't think of another QB that MIGHT be available but even he may not be available.

not sure why TO would trade their backup to a rival in their Division.  Would need to be a pretty sweet deal for the argos to consider IMO.

IMO Argos are as likely to trade Arbuckle as we are to trade Dru Brown. Ideally you want a viable veteran #2 in the CFL given how common QB injuries are.

Plus Zipp makes a good point about divisional rivals.

It's not likely but it would be for the same reason as why the Redblacks traded Dru Brown. Obviously he'd like to be a starter. Whether he's any sort of distraction I don't know. What the upside of their # 3 QB comes into play. He spent all of 2025 on their roster, so they must like him to some degree.

For the Argos it sheds some SMS. Kelly is playing well and it could reap them some very good draft picks.

So purely speculation, but the TiCats are not going anywhere with their current back ups.  For that matter, the Argos could swap Ford for Arbuckle to at least give them a veteran with some experience. It's a risk assessment about whether Kelly gets any sort of serious injury versus all the other thoughts.

Does Milanovich hate Arbuckle?  Does he want him out of town?  Does he have a different QB in mind for #2? Pretty sure that's how Dru got traded.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

The Ticats should look at every back up in the league. I don't think many of them will be worse than the two they have on their roster. The combo of Dolo and Ford was so bad.

Do you mean Miller? I'm sure Milanovich would love to have Arbuckle on his team right now in light of Mitchell's injury.
"I know why you seek solitude."

Is this the bad place?

Hammy can trade McManus back to the Argos for Arbuckle, I'm sure they'd be delighted.

Quote from: Tecno on July 07, 2026, 06:46:50 AM"lackadaisically" surely isn't the best word here.  Though I think I get what you're saying.  Yes, he/we often get a bad start.  Heck, look at the EDM game, get the ball and go 2 & out!  That's so common for us.  It's horrible.

But did Condell put Zach in a good position to start this last game?  How many years have I been screaming "our short game sucks!"... and Condell dials up an "everyone curls" scheme?  The play that has lost us GCs?  Zach can't execute that!  He hasn't since maybe '21.  Bad teams will disrupt that pass, and good teams will INT it.  So why are we running it?  That's just stupid.

Remember '18 and '19 when Lapo would start games with Nichols chucking a bomb?  Where did that go?  Why not something to play on the whole world thinking it's a Brady run for play #1?  A flea-flicker, after handoff to Brady, to Tim with jumbo protection would be perfect.

Unlike Mace and T.Harris, and Dinwiddie with Arbuckle, and Milanovitch with Bo, we seem to be incapable of admitting Zach's shortcomings and shifting schemes to his strengths.  We seem to be incapable of identifying his lack of zip, extra mini-pumps, and lack of looking off.

It's as if the whole organization thinks an everyone-curls route will be 100% for Zach, when it's actually roughly 25%.  Am I the only one who sees this?

I carry deep seeded scars from a time so long ago I can't remember the years, when the Bombers regularly took the field on perfect summer days in front of an expectant Wpg. crowd only to start the game flatter than a 50 cent pancake, ensuring a 20 pt. deficit was well entrenched by half time.  The 2nd half often collapsed into a bleary mess of drunkenness and bitter tears.

This ugly trend returned 3 seasons ago for no obvious reason, when a powerful version of the team led by Zach came out flatty-flat-flat against a Lions team led by Vernon Adams in front of a boisterous sold out crowd at IGF and proceeded to piss the rest of the day away. I remember that one well, it was the first time a hint of bad vibes returned to the field after the GC runs.  Sadly in the last few years falling behind early seems to have become a regular curse they are most often unable to overcome.

I would trade Brown to the TiCats, for Lawlor.

I think Tre Ford given the starting role can pilot that team to a respectable record. He's not a bad QB.

Terrible idea imo.  Go over the cap to add to a position we don't need, losing both a near and medium term option for one that we do, which is much harder to find talent in.  Lawler is amazing and I love him but this idea is a bad one imo.
Ford is a win one out a 4 QB.

We thank god you are not in charge. :D

Ford I think will fail under Milanovich. Scott will get sick of Fords "winging it" real fast.

Masoli to Hamilton. They need a guy to throw short, and hand off. The guys they have ...I wouldn't trust. That Ford guy can only run. And he lost the game for Hamilton. And that Dolemega guy ???? Was he ever any good? Yeah Arbuckle would be a good bet, same with the guy we had here from the UFL.
