Quote from: Blue In BC on July 18, 2026, 04:07:07 PMI am a little surprised Collaros was moved to the 6 game IR. That's not a good sign that he'll be available anytime soon. In theory he can't practice for 4 weeks but obviously he could also be moved off the 6 game IR earlier.

Probably precautionary but they already wasted 2 weeks with Zach on the 1 game, if Dru goes on a roll, expect Zach to sit on the 6 game until they sort things out.  He might get one more shot at winning the starting job back, but I think we're seeing the transition in progress.

What's gone is gone for good and Zach can't bring it back, he either shouldn't be playing due to sensitive health concerns or he cares more for the money than for his health, either way not good. On the books he's the biggest expense with diminishing productivity year to year, it's not a popularity contest and nobody is an icon, the primary goal is to win football games and fill the stadium with happy fans.

With Hamilton and BC desperate for a Qb, it is good to see that Bombers didn't let Perkins go because he certainly would have been picked up. If we were to trade a Qb I think you would get a lot for him right now.

Only the 1st game on the 1 game IR applies to SMS at this point. This week counts as game 1 against the 6 game IR.
One game at a time

There is no way Walters trades any of our QB room, with both Zach and Dru's injury history, and Elgersma's potential.

No number of position players or draft picks is worth the risk.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Agree price is lower now than will be as he will likely find success

2 yr deal in the low to mid 200s per year but I might be dreaming, what's he worth right now?

You're wrong.  There's always a price.  What about "1RDP for the next hundred year".  Of course there's a price for which we'll part with one of our guys.

If Collaros has persistent, many-years-long neck crick issues, why aren't we hiring an F1 neck trainer to come give him an invincible neck?  There are a ton of things you can do to beef up a neck, but they need specialist trainer.

Ya, it won't solve all neck issues, but it can sure as heck help.

Smash those sissy drivers into the ground thousands of times and see how their muscular necks hold up over time, Zach's body has taken a ton of abuse.

the G forces those drivers withstand over the years are probably equivalent or more than what a qb faces. they are elite athletes.

Is this all related to the neck injury he suffered a few years ago against Edmonton when Dru came in, posted a comeback and led us to victory?

It's concerning that the hit he experienced after Stubblefields tackle against Hamilton resulted in such serious concern for his health and safety.

The hit against Edmonton a few years back was a lot more egregious.   I think the D Lineman ( I want to say Ealy) made contact while Zach was falling down or on the ground after throwing a pick (pick 6?).

In any event, if the small amount of contact Zach sustained against Hamilton re aggravates an old injury,  he should be concerned about quality of life and start transitioning into his post football career.
Everyone is a genius at least once a year. The real geniuses simply have their bright ideas closer together.

he may have a vertebrae that has been fractured or is crushed/damaged in some way

you are right though - i think the horizon on an incredible career is very near.

not sure if he wants to coach but you look at Buck Pierce and AC - they are having great second careers as coaches in the cfl.

The neck is a tricky thing, and sometimes you can't really find out what's causing an issue.  And recovery can be a day or 3 months.  And yet if you have a messed up neck, you can't do much of anything.  Those who have gotten a chronic cricky neck at times will know what I mean.
