OTT@EDM 3Q5:14 Cody takes basically the same blindside sack Zach did.  Same type of disguised blitz.  Ouch, though this one was from big Laing.  That's not a Good Time(tm).

Just going to show this disguised blitz often hits home.  (Cody didn't have any backfield help though.)
Never go full Johnston!

Quote from: TBURGESS on July 10, 2026, 01:49:32 AMCan someone tell me what kind of neck injury causes you to squint at bright lights? Thats what Collaros was doing on the sideline after the hit.

I'm guessing it's both a neck injury and a concussion based on the proximity of the neck and head.

Is this the bad place?

Steps.
Go to bar, find Thomas, tell him he was full Rudy, report back if head is still attached to body

We play chess pretty darn well, proven by our win loss record and cups under mafia's epic run

Dave Ritchie also hung on to vets too long but it brought him much success as well, sure do miss him

You don't give enough credit to cdn depth, its the pillar of success of any cfl club and always will be
A big question mark but if Zach can do it so can Dru, all about the OL, well said agree allDru Brown imo will never reach that level, tough to call that now but he isn't close to Zach's prime imo.  And I love and trust Dru.  But Zach's ability to put touch on a deep ball is something we might not see for a decade.  Not to mention his ability to extend with younger legs.30 plus min to winI see them as equals until Brown can prove 2 things:
1. Be healthy
2. Avoid ints

I believe in both He isn't hurt bad enough to be on the 6 game.  The end was always in question since he got here.  I think he has a few more rounds.

If 110% healthy this is still Zach team.  We got time to let him heal with our depth at QB.  I give Zach another game off regardless.  Once ready our leader shall rise again imo.

Did you miss the conversation about if a player can't practice then the 6 game IR makes the most sense. When he can return to practice then he's moved back to 1 game IR. Compare what we did last year with some players.

There is no downside to the 6 game IR if a player can't practice. He can be removed at any time and SMS would be charged back to 1 game IR.

Gonna be interesting too see what we do with the QBs

Zach isn't dumb and can obviously see Dru did way better than he Zach is capable of.

Has there ever been a player who will concede his spot for the betterment of the team?   Zach will still get his 500k.

We all know Oshea will never give up on Zach unless he's being carried off on a stretcher.

Let Zach enjoy a little rehab and be a mentor.

Best option for us is that Zach's never healing neck injury needs some more time. Would like to see what it looks like over more than one home game with Dru but he looked better than Collaros by a far margin with the limited sample size and not a lot of time in the offense.

A Dru/Elgersma/Perkins depth chart with Collaros as the IR stash might make a lot of sense for 2026.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Brown is obviously a very good QB. Collaros still has some mileage left in his game. He also has better chemistry with the receivers at the moment.

We don't know the extent of the injury to Collaros but I can imagine we might leave him on the IR for 1 more game. If it was any other team than the Redblacks maybe not. Argos defence is not that good and I mentioned that before the game.

No player " concedes his spot ". A coach may make that decision but he's not going to step aside.

After last night, I'm ready to move on from Collaros.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

We won't but I wonder what a Collaros return to Hamilton trade would be worth? Maybe two first rounders?

I'd explore it. Would be an interesting storyline.

Be very interesting. He would be worth a first rounder.

He'd be better than who ever Hamilton is gonna put out. But Zach can't do the fast trigger throws

I dont see Miller or Walter's having the balls to do it

Writing is on the wall for Zach though

Blueforlife

I wouldn't trade Zach.  Depth at QB is a wonderful thing.

With Drew Brown's injury history, cannot even think about trading Collaros. An injury to Brown at that point, and our season is over.
