Elgersma

Seemed to get on well with him on the podcast together, I don't think he wants to help anyone take his job away though.

Yep they got a $300,000 receiver and no one to throw it to him!!

Quote from: tlf on Today at 02:30:09 AMWith a new OC? I'm not sure he'd know this playbook. He'd know the old one though.

He would def know the CFL more though, yes.
Condell was Brown's OC in Ottawa for 2 years.

And that's fine, but different talent around him here so he'd have different plays.  Here he has diff receivers, Brady is different, they probably use the offense different is all. I'm sure they'll sort it out soon.

That was such a brutal first half ...brutal....

With backups in we did ok and am really happy to take the win....

A patched up OL comes through.  Bbb seals the deal.  Runs up the gut worked well even when the entire stadium knew that's what we were doing.  The negativity about our run game was silenced imo.  Run it often and between tackle.  Bed and butter of this O.  D played decent.  A big W and gritty effort.  Proud of Taylor.  Give Zach some rest as we got insurance x2.  Those that crapped on the Brown trade will be on turbo defrost tonight.

Good effort by a great ST unit.

Really sad to see Bo go down while he was at his best.

Just give us the Grey Cup right now! We the champs!

Give us an irrelevant take with no substance.

Nobody suggested that, back to planet earth 🌏.

Lincoln Locomotive

Let's give Taylor Elgersma huge credit for taking over from Zach while trailing and getting the job done.  I was surprised at his relative poise out there and often he didn't have great field position.  He certainly didn't look rattled out there and threw the ball with authority and got rid of it quickly.  He did get sacked once however Zach was sacked twice.    Zach throwing a pick on the first play was a disastrous start and fortunately we came out of the first half still in the game.
Our defence made a few crucial stops when we needed them even if it was Ford and Dolegala calling the signals.
I predicted a Hamilton win if we allowed Bo time and for the most part he did but they left at least 8 points on the field in the first half.
Yes we lost Zach and then they lost Bo....however Taylor played extremely well given the circumstances he was given.
So do we keep 4 QBs once Zach returns?  Perkins is really good on short yardage so if we end up keeping 3 then it's a tough call.    We may have a QB situation which is a good problem to have given where Hamilton is now with Bo likely gone for much if not all of the season.

If we're comparing backup QBs Elgersma looked better than Ford and Dologala and both of those guys have been around a while.

He looked better than Streveler last year who had a ton more experience also.

He needs reps.

Also Brady was huge on that last drive playing Brady Bully Ball crashing for consecutive first downs to kill the clock and get us in tremendous field position for the game winning FG.  He carried the team on his back there to help us squeak out a win in hostile territory!    Impressive!

I was pleasantly surprised by his poise under difficult circumstances with us trailing.   He didn't make any rookie blunders or cough up the ball despite his one sack, which wasn't on him!    I agree he looked better than Strevvy and Tre Ford/Dolegala!   He's also an intelligent QB and gives good interviews which i like as well....for his very first CFL trial by fire it was an impressive start for him!!

Checked all the boxes for me for thrown into the fire start one and a pretty protective OC.

Yes. It was easy to look good doing shorter passes too.  That was a good decision to keep it simple.  Had we let him loose and chucked it down field as some were calling for, you may have seen a few good throws but I suspect some bad as well.  We don't know.  He is new and needs more reps for sure before he is allowed to play big in a game.

Are you serious? That was the worst display of quarterbacking I ve ever seen. Yes, Elgersma was better than ford and dolegla—-I can't believe either of these guys has a job in the cfl, they are horrible, just terrible, and it's not like it's their first kick at it. Hamilton is in serious trouble. As for our offense, I can't believe we won a football game when our offense was never in the red zone once during the entire game!! That was the worst display of offensive football I've ever seen at the professional level
