Quote from: Sway on Today at 01:52:55 AMYou can't call time outs within 3 minutes ?  Since when

(The thing is you lose 1 TO if you still have 2.) For quite a while.  Many seasons at least.  I didn't know/care enough about the rules >5 years ago, so can't speak to exactly when it changed, but probably >5 years ago!

That said, I agree with someone who said Elgersma was going to get the play off, but it was going to be close.  MOS didn't want to take the chance.  Also, MOS is perfectly fine with losing that bonus TO -- he's not Dickenson The Greater who will take every little delay or challenge he can get.

Quote from: The Zipp on Today at 01:10:53 AMtommy neild kinda invisible last two games

After Nield lit it up vs first-HAM-game, teams have rightly determined he's our #1 threat.  So they focus on him and take him away.

The ironic part is, he's not that good.  He's maybe high-end of the middling NATs.  He's not in the elite NAT REC level though.  But he is big and tall, and that makes him more of a threat than Demski, especially since our whole game is basically the mid pass.

Quote from: Sway on Today at 01:03:43 AMHammy is sleeping after the injury

HAM lost their will to live the instant BLM got Kelly'd.  That's the only reason we won with nothing other than Brady ball, which every other team has successfully shutdown all season.  If anything, we got fired up once they hosed Zach.  We're the more mature team.

Quote from: Big Daddy on Today at 01:02:33 AMBad look for CFL.  Or at least Hamilton.  When Bryant left via ambulance there was no delay like this in Wpg.

To be fair, a hospital is basically on the same property as PAS.  That said, HAM stadium is smack dab downtown, and surely there's also a close by hospital?

Quote from: bwiser on Today at 12:48:21 AMI wonder what the Bombers could get for Dru Brown if they traded him to Hamilton.

'27 1RDP, '28 1RDP, and '29 1RDP  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  =  33% profit

Nah, I think we're happy with our room.

Quote from: BomberFan73 on Today at 12:28:13 AM1st time I've seen Younger on the bench, isn't he usually in the booth?

Nope, Younger seems to be a field guy.  Hall is the eyes in the booth.  But Younger seems to have lost weight?

Quote from: J5V on Today at 12:10:42 AMAre there any playmakers on this defense?

They aren't allowed to make plays unless it's a mid/deep shot.  The scheme literally means you cannot get the same INT on a short curl HAM got on Zach.

Quote from: Horseman on Today at 12:08:31 AMElgersma has been with the team since training camp, there is no shortened playbook for him, he should know all the plays.

He's a rookie, and a backup.  Guaranteed he only gets 10% of the book.

The fact we gave him a deep shot at all is a miracle.  And that shot may have just been a ploy to get the D to massively loosen up -- because it worked like a charm.  HAM didn't start run blitzing Brady until it was much too late (and it cost them the game).

Quote from: 3rdand1.5 on Today at 12:31:52 AMAre we better than Sask....no
Better than EDM....no
Better than Cal....no
Better than BC....no
How about T.O....no
Mtrl....no
Hammy....nope
Ott....yep

Well, we're better than HAM now!  As for OTT -- I wouldn't put money on that!!  If Dinwiddie can beat us with Arbuckle, he can probably beat us with Maier -- they're basically the same QB.

Quote from: GOLDMEMBER on Today at 12:44:37 AMBo could be done for the year.

Did the computer PVR magic.  I don't see any leg bone break.  Leg maintains its shape throughout the ordeal.  Foot/ankle, on the other hand, at some points is pointing in an awkward direction.  Plus, during the roll-over it's wobbling/rotating pretty freely  -- like it's just a chunk of meat with no bone inside.

My money is on a bad ankle break.  No idea what the prognosis for this is, or how variable it is.  But at his age it could be couple/few months up to season-ender.

Not sure it has to be career-ender, because he's not mobile to begin with, and basically never runs (and certainly can live without the 2-3 runs he does each season).  BUUUT, he's gotta be close to retirement anyhow.  He might not want to risk "pulling a Strev" by rehabbing for nothing.

Quote from: bunker on July 05, 2026, 11:52:32 PMFirst decent play I've seen Kelly make

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on Today at 01:09:56 AMJake Kelly having his coming out party tonight, he's everywhere doing everything!

Kelly had the game of his life, for sure.  Went from a liability or ghost every other game to making, by my count, 3.5 impactful/good plays.

That's good news for us, if we're going to keep dressing him.  He may also be feeling the pressure as Ball might be nearing full health.  He also might be smarter than athletic, as a couple of his plays were good sniff-outs -- and smarter can count for a lot in a MOS/Hall team, because we "need" a couple of vets to direct things.
