Quote from: Tecno on June 26, 2026, 06:28:13 AMUh... you did see how crap the OL was tonight, right?  Compare it to vs HAM.  Ya, that's all Eli right there (and Elsbury being out of place).  I told you all he wasn't good enough and we needed to go IMP C -- for 2 seasons!

Pass pro is not our problem.  Pass pro was awesome in game 1 & game 2.  It only broke down because Neuf decided to <something>.

Eli is a great 6th.  Eli is fine coming in for a Q if someone gets hurt.  Eli is NOT someone who should be starting a game.  I have a hunch Vibert gets his job in off-season and Eli retires, or goes PR if we have no DP options.

And... why didn't we keep Els at C and put Eli at RG, assuming we couldn't dress 4 IMP (pulling an IMP REC)?  Eli has played G before and been no worse than he is at C.  Shuffling TWO players was unnecessary and I think it threw off Els.

The OL is better with Neufeld at RG. I'm not sure we used the best combination of who played where. Elsbury did not play well at RG and Eli did not play well at enter.

You can't argue the 3 import OL is better when our OL has been manhandled in each game, especially the last 2 against better teams.

Maybe Elsbury improves but the ratio change has not been a success yet.

There is a trade off long discussed that there is a trade off at receiver in order to have a 3 import OL. That became even more apparent when injury forced us into a 4 Canadian receiver group and no DI to replace Wilson.

That concept is like walking on the edge of a cliff in the fog.

Getting shut out in a half in inexcusable. Getting shut out in a half at home is actually pathetic. What a sloppy performance.

And then the defense can't manage a stop late in the game to preserve a precarious lead.

There are no silver linings in last night's loss. This team looks just as bad as it did last season.
"I know why you seek solitude."

Is this the bad place?

We can say what-ifs and could-haves all day long but the reality is last season we lost our last game to Mtrl. We won our first game against Calgary, then get molly whopped by Hammy, then lost to Edm. both at home......

At the end of the day we can say it's a, b or c but reality is we are not good enough, it's not one scheme or player or issue. Unless multiple things improve we are not a good team. The stats say so, the record says so, and the eye test says so.

I don't see us beating Hammy in Hammy as long as Bo is healthy, so we are staring down a realistic 1-3 record....then what.....

Looking over the stats, realistically the D played well enough to win the game, they only gave up 23 pts. and they stopped the Elks in the Redzone from scoring TD's 3 out of 6 times, plus they caused 2 turnovers.

On the other hand the offence fumbled the ball 6 times and lost 3, luckily they didn't include Cobb's drop or it would have been 7/4.  IMO the nail in the coffin was when they received the ball with 5:10 left and promptly went 2 and out, leaving Fajardo with 3:51 to score the game winning TD, which he easily did.

In days of lore they would have played Brady ball and marched the field while methodically consuming the last remaining minutes of the game. Such a result would have sparked wild enthusiasm for the coming season on such a glorious night, instead a black cloud of doubt has slipped over POS and the team's prospects for this season. They absolutely must find a way to beat Hamilton next Sunday.

How we got to halftime down only 11, I'll never know.

You can't cough up the ball in your own red zone.  Daniels just got a huge slice of humble pie, that was a dumb rookie mistake.  Take the yards.

Yes, Oline was not great.  Zach running like a maniac in the backfield down not allow him to set up for the good deep throw.  Neuf out, Elsbury playing a position he hadn't played before coming off his own wedding, not sure that's optimal.

Castillo missing 2?  That's the game if he hits.

I was playing poker, and watched it between hands, and when big plays happened.  Not sure if the game I saw was different than the game would be watching it from KO to final whistle.  I have it PVR'd, but not sure I want to watch it.  At all.

Did see the Perkins SY for a big gain.  So much for Taylor taking that job.

Younger's D shut the Elks down in the 2nd half.  He is making half time adjustments well, zero 3rd quarter scores this year.  I guess its just actual game planning that is the issue.

MCI25 on the final kickoff looked pretty sharp, straight up field with determination.  Yes, we want shifty Vaval there, but they astutely kicked to MCI25, and I think he did good to make that return.

What was Wallace thinking rumbling with the fumble.  Those wonderful hoggies loose theer minds when they get the ball.  He wasted a good 5 seconds there.  Fall on it and secure it. Running with it wastes time, and risks fumbling.

Far too soon to write off the year, but man...

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

At least we're using Daniels so he'll improve and force defences to not just ignore him.

Perkins looked good on his long run but I perceive that Elgersma is moved to RR in any case once Brown has a practice or 2. That might be as early as the next game since he's familiar with Condell.

MCI plays on return and cover teams, so he's a valuable player on the AR. I would like to see him get an offensive rep as well.

Taylor can still take his job as a short yardage QB.  You want you third string QB to also throw the ball if needed.

Hearing that JC94 clasped on the sideline?? Didn't see this? Did JC94 just over heat.

However, that gave Fletcher more snaps and he showed the quickness he displays in practice. 271 lbs. DL running down Leake.

Daniels will learn to run over DBs, not try to jump over them.

Yah saw that, Fletcher has some wheels for a big man. So far these young bucks on the D-line haven't made a dent, I think they must be struggling with the amount of holding the O-line is allowed.  Even saw Stan attempting to integrate it into his game a bit more, at times he's holding on for dear life. Fair to say this will probably be his final season.

Yeah, I like Fletcher's hustle, he can pass some on to Willie, cause he needs some.

Quote from: Jesse on June 25, 2026, 07:39:53 PMWe have dead last in sacks each year under Jordan Younger. So you can admit it's not something he prioritizes or you have to admit that we are very bad at it.
Would be interested to see the QB pressure #'s under Younger.  We haven't been a sack machine 100%.

Can't recall if you're one who goes to games or not, so I'll just throw in here that the temp was perfect -- just above light sweater threshold by 0:00.  It's not like it was 30 and muggy.  That said, ya those guys working hard certainly can still get hot and overheat if they aren't taking care of themselves.

Too bad my seat makes seeing our bench impossible -- best I can do is see the guys standing close to the sideline, even if I stand up.  So binocs scouting for dirt like this only works on the enemy bench and WPG goings-on are mostly a mystery to me.

Perkins looked ok in PS.  Elgersma maybe showed a bit better, but it wasn't a country mile.

MOS hasn't gambled passing with the SY unit since Prukop botched one 2-3 seasons back.  (Maybe there was 1 Strev try in his starts last season on 2nd?)  I think we need to do more SY passing, at least one a year, to force D's to honor the coverage.  I don't care if it fails that one time.

I love the hoggie fumble rumble.  Epic.  He trashed a bunch of guys until they realized they need to get the legs.  Love to see it, even if it did cost time.  I can't think of a hoggie I'd rather see with the ball than him.  I thought he might get all the way to the GL!
