Me too.  I muted the 200% louder "be right back" breaks on the streams and I was working that mute button all.the.freakin.time.

Maybe Johnston really did find a way to fit 25% more commercials in every CFL game.  We shall see!

I have all our last 10 years of Bomber games PVRd and can always go back to confirm any suspicions once we get week 1 over with.
Never go full Johnston!

Quote from: Sway on June 03, 2026, 05:04:53 PMI dont think there should be a 2nd whistle at 20 seconds after the play clock starts at 35 immediately after previous play ended.

I got the impression they blew the whistle "play in" once the refs had the ball and sticks and themselves in place, just like they used to.  I didn't think they blew it in right at 20s as a "reminder" or anything.  But I could be wrong... and I can't check now as the PS games have been ixnayed on the platform.

Quote from: Stats Junkie on June 03, 2026, 03:34:57 PM5 Time Count violations - 4 on kicking situations
2 Delay of Game penalties - on kickoffs

How about too-many-men?  That occurred at least once in the WPG PS2 game.  Or are you counting that under delay-of-game?

Basically any penalty that can be caused by tardiness or personnel screwups could be due to the 35s limitation.

Quote from: TBURGESS on June 03, 2026, 02:45:51 PMNot as big a difference as I was expecting, but preseason means not trying to drain the clock in the 4th. That will come into play during the season, meaning fewer plays in the 4th Q.

All depends on who has the ball... draining is only an option when you're ahead.  One thing is for sure, though, what WPG did draining the clock while behind to end the game is something you'll never see in a real game.  In that sense the PS definitely could have "less plays".

Maybe I'm nuts, but I could have sworn the game clock just kept running, except in the final 3:00?  I could have sworn I've sat there in the stands watching our team bleed a full 60s off the game clock between plays before.

I could easily be wrong too, lol. I was just trying to explain it in my head without thinking too much.

I remember this too. Bombers killing clocks to ice games with 7 minute run drives.

Play over,  game clock keeps going for 30 seconds before 20 second play clock even  got whistled in

This clock change should be good overall.   But if it's a sneaky way to fit in more commercials than that's just silly

With the faster changes of personnel, we should hire an Offensive Assistant, and maybe make sure he knows the alignments and personnel packages...
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Condell has 4 assistance below him, according to O'Shea he's never had that luxury before.
