Throw Long Bannatyne

Quote from: Waffler on July 06, 2026, 09:25:53 PMHe's not as good as Crum and I know nothing about their 3rd string guy Anthony Brown Jr. you think it would be a minor upgrade at best. I am wondering about Alexander's hamstring now.

Hamilton will have to win with what they have for now. I am sure they are beating the bushes today. Wilson wouldn't have been an upgrade for them except at 3rd down specialist.

The Als only have the 3 QB's on their roster after parting ways with Caleb Evans, maybe they're looking at Wilson as a development QB on the PR who can someday compete for the #2 job.

Also keeps Wilson away from Hamilton.

All teams need 4 QB's around for the season.

Calgary released that Canadian DB. The kid played a lot last year at Corner. He must have good speed? Well good enough for Safety, maybe?   That would allow Kramdi to return to OLB or dime?

I think we'd try the in-house options first... If Kramdi goes SAM and ratio is fine then Allen gets his job back once healthy.  If we need ratio then Kelly and even Smith have priority, you gotta believe.

If we do pickups, it'll probably be in areas where we are thin, like DL, maybe REC.

The best solution to the "Kramdi question" is for him to just get better.  If he's not super fast, then be extra super smart and sniff out the play and get an INT.  Be better at run support and blitzing.  Find a way to be really good at something.

I thought I saw the Canadian kid get burned.

Always liked Doege but he's never been given much of an opportunity, as part of a 3 QB circus he might come out on top as a future starter.

Disappointed in what we saw from Ford, he seemed to be a better QB 2-3 years ago, maybe he's given up or is an illustrating that Milanovich is not that good at developing QB's if the QB is not already a stud.

LOL, "Vet", hahahahaha.  That's funny.  I guess Patterson, Dolegala, and Wilson3 are "vets" then too.  :D  :D  :D  ::)  ::)  :P  :P

Good luck Cats!  You'd be better off with what you have in-house.  I bet HAM drops 1-2 of these guys in a heartbeat when a real QB shakes free somewhere.  They must be sniffing for trades right about now.

Ironically, they probably would trade their soul for Zach right now.  It would make the $ we paid for Dru look like peanuts.  Not that I'd trade Zach, ever... but I'd be interested in hearing what they are offering.  If we're clearly not going anywhere this season, and unlikely to make the playoffs, by the trade deadline, and we know for sure Zach is retiring in '27.... hmmm.  Zach goes "home" and ends the drought for HAM then retires?

Around goes the QB carousel in Hamilaton:

Ticats sign QB Harrison Frost

https://www.cfl.ca/2026/07/15/ticats-sign-quarterback-harrison-frost/

"HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Wednesday the team has signed American quarterback Harrison Frost.

Frost, 27, returns to the Tiger-Cats after spending the 2026 UFL season with the St. Louis Battlehawks, where he appeared in four games, made three starts, and completed 57 of 107 passes for 719 yards and seven touchdowns, adding one rushing touchdown.

He previously spent two seasons with Hamilton (2024-25), appearing in 17 regular season games and completing eight of 12 pass attempts (66.7 per cent) for 95 yards and one touchdown. Frost also spent time with the XFL's Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023.

The six-foot-one, 194-pound native of Kennesaw, Georgia, concluded his collegiate career at West Georgia after beginning at Mercer University. Across 54 collegiate games from 2018-22, Frost completed 635 of 1,049 pass attempts (60.5 per cent) for 7,777 yards and 59 touchdowns, including 6,730 passing yards and 50 touchdowns over two seasons at West Georgia."

Alouettes LB Awe to have hearing

QuoteAccording to 680 CJOB's Derek Taylor, Awe has the most appearances on the fine/suspension list (10) than any other player since 2017.

Is this the bad place?

It sure looks to me like Dolegala goes back to SY and Ford gets the pink slip. Doege and Frost getting tryouts for the lead role.

I don't know why... Ford is the versatile one.  Adds a bit of a Strevy element, maybe get him doing SY and running the trick plays.

Remember the "sneak" Ford did in our first game this season and got like 30Y??  That's his forte.

I'm in agreement with you, but Milo has already given a majority, if not all, SY reps to Dolegala this year. I would imagine he goes back to this arrangement once he figures out who his starting QB is.

Elks D.

"The pass defence is ball hawking, tops in the league with six interceptions, while standing second in opponents' completion percentage (67.9) and knockdowns (20).

Impressively, Edmonton's opposing quarterbacks have been forced to a league-low of just 88.3 in the efficiency rating stats.

As well, the defence has forced a league-high seven fumbles and 16 total turnovers, helping the Elks to the number one perch with a plus-seven in the giveaways-takeaways column."
