If McManis could be added in trade at a low cost and has another year on his contract, that might be worthwhile. He could be the JSK for 2027.

The Als have better talent on their DL and traded for Howsare for a 5th round pick. I'd argue that Howsare and his experience even as a rotational player would have been valuable. At the moment he'd replace Jaworski as that player.

If Ceresna is going to miss some or all of the rest of the season, then he's be starting.

Ottawa sends recently acquired LB Kyahva Tezino to the PR, along with Kenny Lawler's brother Kenzel Lawler.  What kind of family names 2 son Kenny and Kenzel???

The Als have also acquired veteran DL Dylan Wynn from Ottawa, they must be having injury problems along their D-line.

Quote from: Blue In BC on September 30, 2026, 01:52:52 PMMcManis has 56 DT's in 12 games. K. Wilson has 39 in 14.  McManis has always been a better LB than K. Wilson.

McManus vs Kyrie is the wrong comparison. Now do Tony instead because that's the real comparison.

Doesn't matter in our scheme who is will or MLB. The role Tony plays is most similar to McManus.

Kyrie is often off the field, so the max coverage set can come on.

IMO McManis is more of a true MLB type that can drop into coverage. Neither of K.Wilson or Jones are good at that.

Our " scheme " is due to those liabilities at MLB.

You speak as though we still have Hurl in the middle. Whatever you want to say about Kyrie, he's 3X the MLB Hurl was. And he's still grading out very well in my weekly ratings.

I don't think the scheme would change all that much should we have McManus playing in our middle.

Sankey was floating around in free agency as was McMannis both dominating forces in the middle. Teams respect them and their abilities. Nobody fears our MLB and he's the king pin of our defense. Our defense became dominant when we acquired big hill during FA. We need to go get another dominating MLB next FA.

I can't even figure out who you're talking about.

Consider all the negative comments that have been discussed about Younger defence. I agree he might not change squat with different personnel, but that doesn't mean some personnel changes shouldn't happen.

I wouldn't guarantee that Younger returns in 2027 or that he doesn't. Need a fly on the wall to know what direction the team will take.

I'm not suggesting Wilson is as bad as Hurl but in a sense he is like Hurl. He can't drop into coverage and he's not a side to side MLB. He's aged out and LB's like DB's should be the easiest to replace.

Seriously do we expect K. Wilson back in 2027? If we don't then any change both short and long term is not the worst idea.

Our season may hinge on winning this next game or the Stamps beginning to lose.
