Riders still have 5 Canadian receivers on the roster, so can't see a need for any trade.

They will draft another receiver in the 2nd/3rd round.

Can't wait for the season to start.

One has played in 4 games. One has played no games. Ajou was supposed to be one of the starters.

Ajou was 4th received on the depth chart, behind Emilus, Schaeffer-Baker and Busby.

Ajou has a career high of 300 yards?

He was still all potential at this point.

Wonder if Ajou could get on with a UFL team now.  He probably has his papers in order, being that he played for the Colts...  wonder if he'd get a sniff.  Not sure what he did that got him suspended, but what is egregious in SSK might be accepted in Mississippi
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

Probably not. It had to do with the lower revenue in the UFL to allow a visa for a Canadian. His personal problems are another issue which may make him persona non grata.

But he's already had a Visa, might still be valid.

He has a specific visa to work for the nfl. He can't do anything else with it.

Juts like Elgersma was eligible to be with the Packers, but not the UFL.

I wonder who will take a flyer on him down the road after serving his penance.  Is Chris Jones still in the league?  ;D

SSK thought he was part of the future.  Methinks strong REC just moved up the SSK selection board in the upcoming draft!  I agree that maybe this makes SSK open to tradebait... if we didn't want Clercius anymore, he would be a good fit in SSK, and I'd think getting a 2RDP for him would be a huge coup.  That said, this is the CFL, not the MLB, and trades almost never happen.

Apparently the event occurred around the time of the Grey Cup parade sometime in December, the Riders had a lot of time to investigate and ponder their options and yet they decided to hang onto Ajou and let Tommy Nield walk. They are left with Bhel Duncan-Dusby, who looks to be the least talented of the 3, their equivalent of Joey Corcoran.

There's not really such a thing as a generic visa, other than as a tourist. If you're earning a cheque in a different country, it's tied very hard to the specific place where that cheque is coming from.

"The Roughriders are suitably embarrassed by your actions, which is why they released you moments after the CFL announced you were being suspended through the pre-season and at least six more regular-season games for being "engaged in aggressive and unwelcome physical contact with multiple women at a restaurant in Regina" on Nov. 18." (the day of the Parade)

So, the Riders knew of the infraction, but waited until the CFL suspended him to release him.  It originally sounded like they released him immediately after the incident, and then the league suspended him.  But its been over 4 months.

Not really the high road I thought they'd taken.

I would think that they needed to verify before any steps including releasing him could be taken, probably some legal ramifications as well

If charges were not laid or complaints made, I'm not sure how he can get suspended or released.

If there was enough evidence to suspend him after deliberation, there was enough evidence for them to release him Nov 19th.

Just sayin.

If he's convicted of criminal charges, he's unlikely to be allowed to cross the border.

there is no criminal charges or even a civil suit. The complainant went to the riders directly.
The league and the team does have the right to release any player due to behavior detrimental to the team, it part of most pro contracts
