Wow, shocker.  But playing FS the way he did takes a toll.  Loeffler was a prime example, when you come downhill and thump, you pay a price.

Its too bad, he was fun to watch.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

He's got other fish to fry, apparently quite a celebrity in Quebec he'll probably make more money on the other side of football.

I agree.  They could have a hard time this season in making the playoffs.

I think they'll do well as long as Trevor Harris stays healthy and that's the key to their season.

He is good but not carry a team good.  Too early to know what the Riders will be but I expect all teams in the West to be decent and plenty of parity.

This is crazy.  It's also crazy that he's 31?  I thought he was like 4 years out of college -- like 26-27.  Basically quitting at/near his peak.

There were ~3 hits he took in '25 that I vividly remember, where a carrier plowed him.  I think 2 he got concussed to some degree.  He's a scrawny, tall guy, way wimpier than Loffler ever was, and he should not be doing those hits.  He's a pure rover and pass interceptor -- should never have been tasked with stopping much bigger RBs.  I wouldn't use him uphill at all.  He should always be tackling from behind or ball-hawking.  Maybe he should have been a corner.

Oh well.  On the bright side, now no one gets him and the unfair (talent + passport) advantage he brings.

He wasn't on our team, but I'll miss him.  He was great fun to watch.

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on February 02, 2026, 05:15:41 PMSomeone will pick Lauther up, he's not done and once he rejuvenates mentally he'll provide solid kicking for another 4-5 years.  We've seen it here with both Lirim and Leggio, great patience is required when managing kickers.

Nah, he's not a H<many J's> or even a Leggs.  He's a Milo who wasn't really ever very good and had many stints of struggles.

The other 2 guys kind of had the yips for a season but then bounced back.  (Leggs is still unproven IMHO.)

So the question is... who is going to be kicking in SSK now??  I'll LOL if whoever they roll with stinks worse than Lauther.  But like Milo, SSK seems to have a penchant for unreliable K's.

The crown jewel of FA25 RECs.  No mention of price?  But whisper is it's a ton?  I hope so!  Best hands of any Rider in a long time.  Really bummed we didn't have a chance to snag him.  Astounding inside route player.

I didn't know he was NFL and made $2M, but that totally jives with what I see on-field.

Only risk is his recent injury history.  If he had played in the post-season then those games wouldn't have even been close.

Riders were test driving Lauther replacements all last season, he's probably already in house.  Half Lauther's value lies in his passport, he's a middle of the pack FG kicker, as are Paredes and Lewis Ward now.  As for Leggs, he's become a machine kicking in the most difficult stadium in the CFL, last year he made 92.9% of his FG's.

McManis released by Toronto. Yikes. Didn't see that coming. Hamilton looking to sign him.
