the good
Vaval = sb rookie of the year and special teams
Allen and Woodbey are just going to get better
Streveler winning us games --somehow
Olivera once again
Getting into the semifinals
Giving us lots of forum material  --- even if it was to complain
Getting back Wilson and Houston
The fans selling out every game!

the bad
Our roster decision making most of the year
Our free agent signings (bordered on ugly)
the defensive line
the lack of consistency in the oline
Our receivers as a whole at times
not replacing key starters
how often Collaros was hit/hurt
not playing rookies such as Smith and Shay and even Bailey enough
coaching - especially the offense- poor execution, poor schemes

the ugly
not going all in on a grey cup in our own city
the 1st half of the semifinal game
having Corcoran and Thomas starting the semifinal

This was a weird year. I would blame. Management. It seemed they made a decision to not really stock the roster with good young players. The DBs were atrocious.  They couldn't tackle.  The LBs couldn't tackle. #5 looked like a P.R. Rep.  Paid a lot of money for five sacks?

The left guard needs to be a priority. A speedy Wide Receiver, or someone who can get the first down. Wolly. Zac as a player coach. Offensive coordinator.

A new DC. Coordinator.
A new Offensive coorordiantor.
Also that bad QB from Edmonton., a quarterback coach who can teach reading defences.  Ok, just read 3 guys. Throw where they ain't.
Again pay your offensive line.

We have lots of good guys.
Zac was a miracle worker considering he had about a tenth of a second to let patterns develop.  It just can't physically be done.
The OC was a joke... I mean he wasn't just inadequate, to draw from when throwing in a play.  But go back to High school.

Great job by fans to support the team.

The Good:
The sun shining on the East side upper deck in the summer enjoying the Bombers, the beer and the crowd with my son and friends. Best bang for your sporting dollar in Winnipeg by a mile.

The Bad:
Not watching the Bombers in the Grey Cup Game.

The Ugly:
Seven months with no Bomber football.

Longest interview of the season, probably his last, addresses many issues.

Ugly-

Walters lack of any useful in season moves
MOS brutal in game decision making, and roster decisions
Hogan. Bad, just really bad
Younger a complete failed scheme which clearly does not work, period
Season ticket holder since year 1 of the Reinbold era.

credit to the reporters for asking the tougher questions, but I'm not sure what they expected O'Shea to say in a presser especially about Hogan.
Personally if he wants it I think Oshea has earned a chance to rebound. Hopefully he gets an offensive coordinator that he can trust to take over the coaching.
If the team is willing to take a more aggressive stance on free agency it would definitely help. OShea also has to take a hard look at his deployment of players

Regardless of what other actions are done during the off season, Mike O'Shea should remain our Head Coach.  No one is perfect but he is our coach for the near future.

While I agree that O'Shea should stay on at least for the 2026 season, I need to see a number of moves

1) New experienced OC
2) The parting of the ways for a number of vets that are way past their "best before date"
3) Purse strings open to bring in talent on the OL and DL and Wipeout's from the free agent market.
4) A far better job at recruiting talent from whatever part of the organization is responsible for recruitment.
5) A notice to the GM that he failed in 2025 and either needs to pick up his game in 2026 or exit stage right.

Hogan: say what you want but he had a plan and scheme that could have won the ESF.  It may have been his best game to date.  Keep in mind we were playing against what I think is the league-best DB corps and a top-3 LB corps.  We were dropping bombs against Ento/Dequoy and getting big chunks.  They didn't pick even one ball?  Incredible.

If Zach doesn't cough it up on a silly run, and Brady doesn't look like a rookie chump couging it up, we probably win that game.

MOS said pre-game it will come down to execution, and he was 100% right.  The plan was there, the O execution failed (and the D had one of their worst games).

I have no doubt that if Mafia remains unchanged that Hogan will be our OC in '26.  So better get used to it.  (P.S. no way we can afford a "real OC" anyway.)
Never go full Johnston!

With Ottawa making the move today with Dinwiddie, we'll see what the fall out to the BB is. Holy crap, things could go south in a quick hurry if MOS leaves....

Great notification from Olivera.  See ya! enjoy BC.

A HC & GM will get contracts longer than 1 season, so that's an issue. The carry forward penalty to fire someone is problematic in that sense.

Item 3: Teams spend the SMS so " opening the purse strings " has to be offset by moving on from other players. That will happen in free agency or by choice. We didn't make good decisions during the last off season.

We know a team can go from 1st to last or vice versa in the course of an off season. Time will tell but it's going to start with what happens with our executive / coaches.

If worst comes to worst I have no idea who the replacements might be.
One game at a time.
