He's had a pretty solid team to coach for most of that, because of Walters / scouts.

He seems to lose things in the details.  Clock management, timeouts, taking advantage of turnovers quickly, utilizing weapons.

I think, with better support staff, he becomes a much better coach.

The front office $SMS was brought in because Chris Jones was...  Chris Jones.

It was meant to stop teams from killing their bottom line with bad decisions.

I really, really think it needs to be erased or raised dramatically.  We can't attract top tier assistants paying them PR roster player wages.

Yes, the WFC has a good bottom line and can afford to pay coaches more.  Making the fans pay for bad coaching because we aren't allowed to pay better ones will hurt the best fanbase in the league.  With zero upside.

Make front office $SMS a soft cap, with overeages paid for in dollar for dollar contributions to the league, with those payments disbursed to the other teams the following year as money they can spend above the cap.

We blow the cap by $800k, every team gets $100K in payment from us, and the ability to spend $100k over the present cap that year (we get the cap increase too, but no $$$).

The haves can spend, the have nots get a hand out.

We refused to operate like this for players, why would we do it for coaches?

My wife is amazing!

I forgot to mention... Montrealers smoke a lot of weed.  Weed smell everywhere outside always.  Downtown: everywhere.  Walking through residential to the stadium: everywhere.  In the game: everywhere.  Leaving the game: everywhere.  Crazy!  Cops everywhere for the game and no one cares!

It's like when I stayed in Brantford for the HAM GC.  We discovered every single person in Brantford smokes cigs.

The things you learn following your team around the country for the big games!
Never go full Johnston!

Interesting that Montreal is big on weed, you'd think the hippies out in BC would have that title!!

Weird they would smoke in the stadium, no smoking means no smoking. Not the place to get into an argument though, you'd lose every time.

I've had people smoke around me @PAS, but it's super duper rare.  I've also smelled weed in PAS, maybe once or twice, but it may have been the wind coming up just right from the smoking door near the rum hut.  Or someone bending down to get a quick puff or vape in their seat.

People try the darndest things.  Just wait until after the game!  Addictions...

As for Vancouver, they did have some weed smell around downtown for the '24 GC, but it was 100X more rare than in MTL.  I have no idea why this is.  Maybe they are better at keeping it at home out West.  Sacre bleu!
