Blue In BC

Quote from: gobombersgo on October 28, 2025, 06:21:59 PMThere are 2 practices this week. The walkthrough isn't listed but I'm sure they will just have it at their hotel in Montreal.

Ah, that's better but still cause for concern. I wonder if Demski is doing any running or is being in uniform just an illusion for media.

Lawson is news I wasn't expecting
One game at a time.

I liked what Munier-Bailey did last week. The only question is which Canadian doesn't get back on after moving to 1 game IR. That could mean it's perceived Demski won't be on the roster.

I think Taylor was speculating about Munier-Bailey, listened to the Coach's Show and O'Shea never said anything that definitive. He should go with Jenkins based on results, but it wouldn't surprise me if O'Shea's established pecking order dictates Bailey or even Person plays.

I could see both Jenkins and Bailey playing.

Jenkins in instead of Person. Baily can stay on the roster, as they can remove Ball to get Brady back on.

Only 3 players did not practice today...

Chris Streveler - Knee
Nic Demski - Hamstring
Dillon Mitchell - Not Injury Related.

According to Derek Taylor Lawson was in street clothes today and didn't practice. Hope its just maintenance cant afford to have Thomas and Kornelson be rotating

Mtl resting their nicked guys
Ding ding will be one for the ages, the old man at QB against the one of the best young talents ever

Would be very strange if Clercius is healthy.  Unless for some reason we think smaller / faster / shiftier / handsier is what we need out wide vs MTL?  (Ya ya, in before someone tells me Corcoran's 40 is slower than Clercius... or whatever.)

Unless... if Demski is gone we are putting Kevens to the inside slot... this would actually make some sense.  Put the tallest, beefiest guy in the punishing position, put the skinnier guy out wide.

Seems like the only locks right now are Pokey, Sterns and Wheatie.  Sprinkle in another 2 from the weaker NATs and weaker IMPs... I would say this makes our REC corps the weakest of all playoff teams.  And that's saying something when SSK is in the mix.

We might have to rely 90% on Brady and our D.  I think we can hit a couple of deep bombs, and a few mid-range zone sits, but I really don't think we can win via a pass-heavy O, and I have no faith whatsoever in our short game.

I'd be going heavy on the run this weekend, do what we do best. I do not like our chances with a bunch of #2 recievers , Sterns and Wilson. They'll key on Sterns and Wilson and shut down our passing game, not that its too terribly tough to shut it down. My fear is we'll start with our usual 2 interceptions in the first half and give them 14 points and we'll never recover. Gotta hope Vaval breaks one and we go up early and make them play from behind.

Often suspect the receivers that play are Zach's choices for the week, maybe Corcoran has begun to demonstrate the knack for finding the open spot and helping out Zach when he scrambles like Woli used to. Can't say I've ever seen Clercius improvise on a broken play, he seems to go to his spot and run his routes like he's programmed with no variation.  The good thing is Zach always knows where to find him.

Hoping Wheatfall can have a big game to take the attention off Pokey, just needs to connect on a couple of deeper shots to stretch the field giving Pokey and Sterns room to work underneath.

Blueforlife

If Wheat can eat we got a chance.  Need bombs and runs.  It's what has always made us great.

Pete

Strange time to be experimenting at receiver, unless Clercius is hurt, which is maybe why Gassama was added in case Cobb or Corcoran gets hurt.  We dont have much opportunity to replace either one with an import.
Also what will be interesting is if they bring Griffin back onto the roster, not sure who they can take out since Ayers is seemingly untouchable

Run game is the new cool thing in the NFL.

Everybody's doing it! All the hip young play callers. Why not us too!

If Demski cant play, yeah put in both Peterson and Brady.

Short swing pass is a long hand off. Brady makes a lot of yards on those plays. Defence would be screwed. Who to cover.

They're going to have to come up with something different. Cause what we've been doing hasn't worked very well.

hogie can redeem himself in the eyes of the forum.

But MTL will know that's all we got too.  So how about we psyche them out a few times with apparent go routes (hopefully on the rail so FS can't get there) where the REC cuts back 10-20Y toward the LoS.  a) We never do that.  b) It'll stop the problem we've been having of the DBs running ahead of our REC and being closer to the ball/INT.

And as much as I love the RB draw (and QB draw), you can really only use it once a game.  Teams are keying on Hogan's newfound love of the draw.  One of them in the last game was scary pathetic as the DT shed our hoggie like he was 90 lbs.

If MTL is out a few of their monster DL, it should help things a little bit.
