Saskatchewan Roughriders rule out Dohnte Meyers, welcome back Brett Lauther against Argonauts
By 3Down Staff -October 9, 2025

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have ruled out receiver Dohnte Meyers for Friday's game against the Toronto Argonauts due to an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old native of Atlanta, Ga. has made 65 catches for 1,056 yards and eight touchdowns over 15 games this season, his second in the CFL. He is currently ranked second on the Roughriders in receiving yardage, sitting exactly 100 yards back of teammate KeeSean Johnson.

The Green and White have promoted Joe Robustelli from the practice roster to start in Meyers' place at field-side wide receiver. The six-foot-three, 220-pound target is no stranger to being a first-stringer, having started 10 games so far this season. The 28-year-old has caught 33 passes for 469 yards and two touchdowns on the year.

Saskatchewan has also welcomed veteran kicker Brett Lauther back to the lineup after he missed last week's game against the Ottawa Redblacks due to a back injury.

The native of Truro, N.S. has made only 68.9 percent of his field goal attempts this season, by far his lowest average since he arrived in Riderville in 2018. Campbell Fair, who missed two converts in his regular-season CFL debut last week when he played in place of Lauther, has been moved to the practice roster.

Saskatchewan signed American kicker Michael Hughes this week, though he will not dress against Toronto. Head coach Corey Mace indicated that using an American kicker is an option for the Roughriders moving forward, so he may yet get a chance to play before the season is done.

The Roughriders have also made a swap at kick returner with Mario Alford reentering the lineup in place of Shawn Bane Jr. Alford hasn't dressed since Week 15 but has been productive on the year, returning 31 punts for 357 yards and 25 kickoffs for 697 yards and a touchdown. Bane Jr. has landed on the one-game injured list as a healthy scratch.

As announced on Wednesday, Saskatchewan will be without Rolan Milligan Jr. this week as he suffered a foot/knee injury against the Redblacks, which kept him out of practice all week. The 31-year-old native of Lake Wales, Fla. has made 52 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, four interceptions, and one touchdown over 15 starts this season. This will be his first absence of the 2025 season.

Sheldrick Redwine will make his first career CFL start in Milligan Jr.'s spot at boundary halfback. The 28-year-old native of Miami, Fla. was a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and had stints with six different NFL teams prior to joining the Roughriders this year. He dressed for last week's win in a depth role but didn't record any statistics.

Marcus Sayles will start at boundary cornerback despite missing practice this week due to a knee injury. Veteran defensive back Nafees Lyon, who joined the team as a free agent this week, will dress in a backup role behind Sayles.

Canadian receiver Mitch Picton has been moved back to the active roster in a depth role, while special teamer Melique Straker has been placed on the one-game injured list.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Argonauts have made five changes to their starting lineup ahead of Friday's game, which will see Jarret Doege get the start under centre.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders (11-4) will host the Toronto Argonauts (5-11) at Mosaic Stadium in Regina on Friday, October 10 with kickoff slated for 9:00 p.m. EDT. The Roughriders are coming off a modest win over the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Argonauts were crushed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The weather forecast in Regina calls for a high of 19 degrees with sunny conditions. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS2 in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1050 in Toronto and 620 CKRM in Regina.

Toronto Argonauts make five changes to starting lineup for game against Roughriders
By 3Down Staff -October 9, 2025

The Toronto Argonauts have made five changes to their starting lineup this week for what will be their second-last game of the 2025 season.

Jarret Doege
will be under centre in place of Nick Arbuckle, who has reportedly been shut-down for the season due to a shoulder injury he suffered early in last week's loss against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The former Edmonton Elks quarterback threw for 323 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions against the Tabbies and has now thrown seven touchdowns and nine interceptions over 36 career regular-season games.

The Argonauts have made two changes along the offensive line after giving up nine sacks last week with Brandon Kemp returning from injury and Sage Doxtater moving to the one-game injured list due to an elbow problem. Kemp will start at left tackle where Hampton Ergle, who have been moved back down to the practice roster, struggled last week. John Bosse, who was a third-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft out of the University of Calgary, will start at right guard.

Isaac Darkangelo will start at middle linebacker in place of Wynton McManis, who is reportedly out for the rest of the year due to a groin injury. Now in his second year with the Argonauts, Darkangelo has made 42 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles, four forced fumbles, and one sack over 16 games this year.

Boundary halfback Darius Bratton is a healthy scratch this week with Willie Drew moving over from field-side cornerback to fill his spot. Delonte Hood, who made three starts earlier this year, will start in Drew's usual spot. The 24-year-old native of Washington, D.C. has made 11 defensive tackles in his young CFL career.

The Toronto Argonauts (5-11) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (11-4) at Mosaic Stadium in Regina on Friday, October 10 with kickoff slated for 9:00 p.m. EDT. The Roughriders are coming off a modest win over the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Argonauts were crushed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The weather forecast in Regina calls for a high of 19 degrees with sunny conditions. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on TSN 1050 in Toronto and 620 CKRM in Regina.

Stats Junkie

Big wind in this game.

Argos net 21 yards on a 74 yard punt single.

Riders drive the field for a TD. Not sure if decision to go for 2 was wind related or chasing points. Robustelli drops the C2.

Argos muff kickoff that hung up in wind. Lucky to get the ball back.

argos keeping it close even with taking bad penalties

Blueforlife

Come on Argos, you need to score please

Pete

Harris gets the ball off so fast, you cant give their recievers 10 yard cushions

Stats Junkie

Harris wasn't so fast on the 'not fumble'. I agree with Forde in that it looked like Harris was trying to tuck the ball after a pump fake.

eearlier this year Dimwiddie had said that he couldnt put Kelly in this year cause he doesnt trust his oline ..you can see why

Stats Junkie

The Toronto O-Line takes a lot of penalties because they are not good.

Doege has his head bounce off the turf. It was the correct call by the injury spotter to pull him.

Argos put Doege back in and he lasts one play before leaving again.

Tucker Horn looked good in pre-season and started the year as the #2 QB. We now get to see how he performs with real reps. Looks decent so far.

Someone needs to teach Dustin Nielsen how to pronounce Hajrullahu.
