Terrible football game, the CFL is embarrassing itself putting on games of this poor quality after Labour Day.
Nothing more embarrassing for the CFL than the "Get Drunk, na na na na" song. Hearing that ad naseum is really going to draw all kinds of new fans to the league. The new commish should immediately fire whoever made the decision to promote that tripe and get something a little more wholesome in there.

Is that Suitor's favorite song? Was it his idea? LOL!

I actually thought it was PI on Polk on the last interception, but no challenges left

Quote from: TecnoGenius on September 20, 2025, 02:11:28 AMThe scouts who found Herslow are the winners this year.  He's the best new IMP this season.  Like a young Ellingson or Acklin, but likely better.
I dunno, Snead from Montreal has looked pretty decent this year too and made a circus catch on a long bomb tonight

4Q8:08 Dump pass to Mital, booth guys note that it's a very favorable TOR spot.  Ya, that's an understatement.  This is a major whiff by the refs.  The ball is, at best, at the 39.5.  And they give it to TOR right at the 38?

It's clear as day, REC catches the ball facing the QB, makes no forward progress at all, and is immediately pushed back towards his dead ball line.  Dude's feet never get closer than the 40 YL.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the refs botch such an easy motionless spot before.  If they spot it correctly it's 3rd & 1.5 or 2.  Instead it's 3rd & 1 inch, allowing TOR to continue the drive.

Homer ref?  EITS didn't want to step in for the "integrity of the game"?

Haha, now I see TSN actually showed another replay and pointed out how the spot was complete nonsense.  Rare for TSN (other than Dunigan) to call out the league for shenanigans.

It's tough against McManus.  That guy wins games just by himself.  And that TOR DL guy who sheds blocks like they are JV squad.  Hard to run against that team when those 2 are healthy.

Wow.  When's the last time a coach, especially Maas, won 2 challenges in a game??

I agree on the first overturn, but am a bit surprised they overturned the 2nd.  Ya, I think the ball moved enough to be incomplete, but that video evidence was hardly "clear and obvious".

I'm pretty sure the overly "clear and obvious" memo from last season is now moot.  It looks like command is back to wanting to get things "right", and they are back to using slowmo, freezeframe, and zoom.

That's a neat OSK trick H<20 more letters with lots of H's and J's> tried to kick in the 4th.  TOR in clear season-desperation mode, pulling out their high-end post-season-only trick plays.  That's how badly they need this game.

I like how TOR only had 1 recovery guy lined up wide and everyone else deep behind the K acting like they were still getting ready.

Not sure I've ever seen that.

Quote from: Sway on September 20, 2025, 01:35:49 AMMaas and Dinwiddie coach with a lot of balls man, shows how they've beat us in last 3 cups

That's why I keep posting the BE BOLD thread after GC losses.  WFC is not bold.  We are the most risk-averse play-it-safe only-by-the-book team in the league right now.  And it used to be good enough when our team was 2021 good.

Now, not so much.  I wish we'd plan in depth as much as Maas/Dinwiddie clearly do, and I wish we'd BE BOLD more often.

I'm nearly positive the only thing that can get you that chirping misconduct is to use the N word.  Boy, was Snead miffed.

Refs better not listen to any rap music, or visit any team's locker room.  They'd need a heck of a lot more flags.

P.S. REALLY STUPID by McGloster

Did Slykwa re-injure the same problem as before?  Dude plays as hard as Loffler, and just as good.  But maybe can only stay about as healthy as Loffler.  Which means nearly never.

Scott & Philpot breaking fantasy hearts all across Canada.  Both go from career-defining games to absolute zeroes.

Philpot dropped 2 easy ones?  Maybe he told Lemon to bet on TOR?  ;)  ;)

I always find it funny that when things aren't going great Maas always looks like he's crying.  Well, I guess crying is better than ruining Kenwoods.

Uh, no.  Did you see his Brohm-balls?  Straight into the turf.  Just because he got lucky with a deep shot or 2 to super-talented RECs doesn't make him better than Strev!  Not that Strev is great, but don't raise Doege to something he is not.  Doege will be lucky to be on any team's PR next season.

Quote from: Pete on September 20, 2025, 02:01:57 AMgoes for the fg. He wasted 30 seconds.
Or even going for it would have made sense. Theres bold and theres dumb

But yet it ALMOST worked out.  If he had Castillo he could have tried a 58er (depending on the wind).  If he had had a real QB in the game they likely get in closer range instead of a WFC-looking INT.

Dinwiddie had almost all the answers all night, keeping them in the game with Brohm at the helm, but he just couldn't get the correct call on that last pass.  Hey, wait, I've seen that before!  It's us!

That was total DPI on that INT too, but it wasn't catchable anyhow because Polk was going downfield and QB was throwing a dig.

Actually an exciting finish.  Crap game otherwise.

I was talking rookies, new scouting finds.  Snead is 3rd year.  I can't think of another rookie IMP REC as good as Herslow.  (NAT DP is a different story, like that 6'99" guy CGY drafted 1st overall.)
