with strev as our starter - we are close to being the worst cfl team in the history of cfl football.  he isn't a quarterback.

1998 Bombers?  Remember Reinebold and TJ Rubley?  That is the worst team we've had.  Sadly I remember it fairly well.

TJ might be better than Strev...

Had to look it up, but Rubley went 0-10 as a Bomber.  Don't think he was better.

Anyway - it really HAS been worse than this year.  It's a hard year to be this bad after 5 straight GC appearances, and hosting the game this year, but this is where we are.

We still aren't re-living the Reinebold days, so there's that.

Ya I can never see MOs highlighting his hair, wearing flip flops and coming out on stage in a Harley. What a boob deadbolt was!!

Don't know why we think it will be easier to get to the cup via the east.toronto has cleaned our clocks as has Hamilton and no way we beat Montreal the way they played tonight.

We are the worst team in the league. We aren't crossing over anywhere!!

Sheer insanity and recency bias.  I re-joined being a fan in '12 and from '12 to '14 we had many "worse teams", and not by a bit, but by miles.  Just complete incompetence everywhere, but especially at QB.

Remember the times we were doing the QB Carousel, especially before Nichols appeared?  I went nearly 2 whole years before personally witnessing a win @IGF (only missing a couple of games).

We still have hope and a chance to win every game this season.  We really aren't that far off.  The difference between hero and zero in this league is very small.  If Hogan finds his brain from the Wizard Of Oz and the QBs stop throwing easy picks and the OL stops being bogus (all doable things, with the exception of maybe one...) then we can beat anyone.

It's not anywhere close to the worst team overall, but it's the worst one that O'Shea has ever assembled if you don't count the mess be inherited when he started.

The quarterback position has been mismanaged this year, badly. The coaching staff was given options. They went with familiarity, and it might cost us a playoff birth.

We don't have a pass rush, don't have the players to get home in 3-4 or 4-3 and are running a scheme that is far too cute and far too stupid. The logic is flawed from the first page of the strategy.  It flies in the face of 60 years of defensive theory and it's an example of how insulted our staff has become.

Our offensive coordinator has struggled badly. He has very little feel for the game and you can see the disconnect from him having never done it and being brand new to professional play calling. Largely a disaster. Could cost us Brady in contact negotiations next year. Will certainly have other implications even if it doesn't.

The offensive line needs 2-3 new bodies. That's about half the room. Do we have any clue who they will be today?

We're going to have to renegotiate Collaros' contract in the off season if he doesn't outright retire and we're probably in a worse position now that we resigned him on the eve of the season. He's worth about half of what we're paying him. Good luck.

There's a lot to fix and the worst part is O'Shea's natural tendency for the status quo and consistency is not conducive to a roster overhaul. Based on comments he's made I genuinely don't know if he gets what needs to happen now. I don't envy Miller. He's got to figure out a way to motivate a stubborn old mule to change without angering him because O'Shea is a good football coach when he has the right players.

.

If he retires...hooo boy.. we're in hot water.  We have zero plan for that, even though we should.  KW better get working on that pronto. He should have been already given his history, age etc.

I love Zach and what he has brought us and how he plays, his leadership etc.  But having zero plan from what we see is irresponsible.

KW and MOS, contract status?  Do they have one for next year?

Its a scary thought if ZC8, MOS and KW retire this off season, as bad as things are right now, man they could get alot worse in a hurry!!

I don't think O'Shea or KW will retire. Whether either will be back is never guaranteed but at the moment I think both will be back. The only place we might see management / coaching changes is in Ottawa. In that sense there may not be many other opportunities in the CFL.

Regardless going into 2026 will be a difficult off season transition. We had a multitude of veteran players that we might see leave due to age, injury history or SMS demands. That's not unusual for CFL teams but we've " aged " at some key positions the need to be re-considered.

We might see more free agency movement activity this year.

Calling this edition of the club the worst ever is simply not turn imo
TJ isn't close to Strev's level, again another big time stretch imo
We are an average club on a down swing who needs our leader back
There was a stretch of many years not that long ago when we would get blown out on the regular, this team is light years ahead of those years
Techno did a good job in summary of those dark years
Nice to see some balance in the opinions here

Sure have some horrid weak spots and brutal coaching decisions especially regarding personnel and O play calls, but no where near "worse ever". Come on man!

Yeah was in the middle of worrying about my Chicago Bears when I posted. I do remember worse Bomber teams. It just seems we have fallen off the cliff rather quickly this year. Hope springs eternal so we shall see what happens. And heck my Bears might even win a few games this year (Maybe)!

I remember TJ Rubley being really really bad. IIRC his 1st pass was intercepted?  Either way, he sucked. lol

There has been many duds in the bombers qb past. TJ Rubely, Michael Bishop (had a howitzer arm but could not hit a barn door). Too many to count in the latter 2000's-early 2010's!
