Blue In BC

I didn't think he's see many reps on defence and yet he was on the field a lot. I've questioned his weight being more of a LB than a DB, but he doesn't look 235 lbs.

He looked like he played well but I'm not sure who was off when he was on. It did seem he took on the role Griffin had before moving to SAM this week.

Rotation of players in different sets, it's not easy keeping up with who is on or doing what.

What did anyone think of his play?

He took a penalty, assisted on a tackle, other than that I didn't notice him.  Don't know why they would move him above Jon Jones, but maybe they're taking a hard look at him before releasing him, he's at least 4th in line for whatever position he's trying out for, don't understand why they kept him in the first place.

That's what I thought earlier as well. He did record 2 DT's and 1 ST last night. J. Jones had no DT's in 3 games and only 2 ST's. I'm wondering if he's played his way off the roster.

Ayers, J.Jones, Woodbey and several Canadian LB's is a what the heck question. about our choices as DI's when we have so many Canadians.

Wow, you guys are really observant. I certainly really never noticed the guys you talked about.

Some people on here have an exceptional knowledge of our depth players and it's awesome they share it with us

I was in party mode and didn't notice what he did but did see him on field once

Yup, I'm with DM83.  Didn't notice him at all except his name being called.

Of course, I didn't see Holm even once the whole game.  So being invisible doesn't automatically equal bad ... or is it different for a LB vs DB?

The LB's are usually closer to the LOS and working against the run game and pressuring the QB. We don't always see what is happening downfield unless a pass is made against a given DB.

So LB's should be more visible like T. Jones who seems to be in on nearly every play.

As I said I was surprised to see Woodbey on the field so much. I didn't see him make any mistakes. Trying to determine the ranking of Ayers, J. Jones and Woodbey seems to have changed.

I'm not even sure we can keep him on the AR now that we have to shuffle the ratio again with Schmekel lost to 6 game IR.

So looking forward to the day the broadcast gives us the option of watching a broad camera view that shows the entire play develop with identifiers for all the players on the field.  This could be done through streaming by giving viewers the option of clicking on another window to expand that view in lieu of the network camera shot. It wouldn't take anything new in terms of technology, a high drone view centred over the football and chip identifiers attached to the players helmets which would not require any extra human input or monitoring.  I think this would allow for a broader understanding of the game and add interactive engagement, hoping this becomes a feature within the next 5 years.

Just realized what a dystopian view this is, won't be long before we're all equipped with chips in our skulls being monitored from above by the Donald!

Players jerseys are chipped. TSN+ offers enhanced feeds which identify receivers and show the routes that they run in real time. I'm not sure if it is wider view of the field. Every now and then, TSN2 will show the enhanced feed when games are replayed in the middle of the night. Personally, I find it distracting.

Sure, wouldn't want to watch it all the time but it would be a nice option to have on the second play through to help figure out who's playing where and in what circumstance. Could be an optional streaming service for people who don't mind paying for the extra service.

Check out what F1 does with the graphics showing who each car is (if you can't remember team+yellowantenna=primary driver).  CFL could do something like that.

As for broad view: I agree totally.  Fans should have access to the all-24 for the whole game.  Even if it's after the fact (post-game) for when we're trying to figure things out.

I might even pay for such a feature, and I'm cheap as all heck.

Sure, even an animated diagram showing moving dots on the field with the players number would be sufficient as few are going to choose an overhead view to watch the game.

My sons are really into F1 so I have to sit through the races quite often, I'm convinced car racing is one of the most boring sports events to watch, but they've managed to jazz up the entertainment value through the use of modern video technology to keep it relevant.  If you watch Need for Speed, the drama is all about the humans, they don't focus much on the cars or the races.

Just having the number would be SOOOO useful.  The amount of time I spend straining to see numbers on limited TSN angles (sometimes never figuring it out) even with all my technology is starggering.  WPG uniforms are actually in the "hard to read numbers" group, too.  Ugh.

That's why F1 is doing so well, they have been pushing the racers forward and making it more about the person.  I'm convinced that's why they are getting all the new women fans.  Since the American (with middle east funding) take over of the sport they've made huge strides.

As for "races boring", I think it might be like CFL... you need to start young.  My dad got me into F1 at the same time as CFL.  His tales of going to the Monaco grand prix were awesome.  Most laypeople don't understand that the excitement is in the chess match in the pits, pit strategy and tire strategy, NOT on the track.  Exact same reason I like football: the chess.  (Though the big crashes & blowups are always fun in F1.)

P.S. Piastri winning world champion (soon) over more-vet Norris just blows me away.  But I'm a 25-year McLaren fan so I'm happy either way!
