We brought in Vaughters who is a bit of a re-tread and only lately contributing much. Seems like we haven't unearthed and developed a solid DE starter from training camp in a number of years. Another Tom Canada must be out there.

And I see that Houston is now sitting on the stool in the corner that Mitchell finally managed to vacate. Another guy we sorely needed to dress. MOS sure is set in his ways.

Another Sergio walk off would be amazing.

We developed Fox, Haba and Garbutt who might not meet the measuring stick by some but all showed flashes and are still employed I believe.

Vaughters has been great since the get go.

Houston needs time, we dress the best options each week and I like the patient approach.

Yesh a Tom Canada sounds great to me.  A strong motor guy would be a welcome addition.  I think Schmekel could be that guy but not at the same level.

Adams has a huge motor and yet he has been recently demoted to the PR, I just don't understand this move.

I'm not sure Fox, Haba and Garbutt are good examples. We didn't appear to re-sign them when they hit free agency. Is Haba still on a roster somewhere? Garbutt is on 6 game IR. Fox gets to play next to Sayles which would make a difference.

Bombers kept Adams and Woods and they've both been demoted to our PR.

Question:

Chicago took a chance on using the Fridge as a RB.  And the surprise factor worked.

Using players at unconventional positions can be either stupidity or brilliance.  See: Duron Carter

Here's my question.

We need a big upfield push to force Harris out of the pocket.

Who is our best "road grader".

Can we flip Wallace to NT with 3 DE's for a passing down here or there?  Just let him barrel down field creating havoc in the pocket, letting the DE's hunt for the fleeing Harris?

Stupider ideas have been floated.  Lol.
Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

If he was still our 6th OL and not starting it's not the worst idea. OTOH we have 3 Canadian DT's on the roster and I'd think Lawson would be that guy.

Lawson - 6'3 290
Wallace - 6'6 340

See the difference?

We don't have a 300+lb DL

Could be his endurance is not great, he puts out high energy but deflates quickly, which may explain limited reps later in games.

It's not a question of weight. It's a question of letting a player have roles on both sides of the ball. Yes we do have some players that are on offence and ST's.

An OL is an every down player on offence so adding extra is more problematic for a 340 lb player than a 190 lb returner.

Lawson is a DL and has different skill sets than an OL. He may be faster and quicker than a bigger bulkier guy.

All I know is when he's in the game, he's a force. A real force/the only force we have from the interior

In the last podcast Neufeld revealed that on the Montreal roadtrip Wallace ate a Tomahawk steak on his own after eating a couple of appetizers.

This is how a Tomahawk is defined.

"A Tomahawk steak is a large bone-in ribeye cut, typically 2 to 3 inches thick and weighing between 2.5 to 4 pounds (approximately 1.1 to 1.8 kg), though weights can vary from 30 to 60 ounces depending on the animal and butcher. This large portion is usually enough to serve 2 to 3 people."

I believe Wallace had a 40 ouncer. I checked the restaurant's menu. lol

Also , I didn't realize player's per diems have increased so much.

That steak is listed as 150 bucks.

'last 3 games he hasn't been noticeable, can't seem to shed a block and gets pushed out of the way . Younger wants the pressure and wouldn't have been putting in Smeckle if Adams was performing. He looked good the first few games not sure what's happened to him

You miss my point.

Like the Fridge, its one play or two a game.

Its not a matter of faster or quicker, its sheer mass bowling the Oline into the backfield.

Disruption.

I think any Olineman would love the chance to bang like a Dline once a game.  No worries about holding, just sheer mayhem.

Don't know anything about Adams background but some of these bigger players may have been fat non-athletic kids who took up the game in high shcool mostly because of their size, often coerced into doing so by a coach, rather than driven by the desire to compete.  Others like JT could be hefty farm boys who did physical labour and competed in athletics growing up and developed their lungs, heart and muscle mass early on which could lead to a significant advantage with their motor. Eg. Playing hockey vs baseball makes a huge difference in cardio ability.

Take a promising young starting Canadian olineman and turn him into a DT? That idea is all kinds of STUPID.
