Sir Blue and Gold

I'm not sure if he has a concussion or not but I'm not sure how you can possibly tell he's gone one from a freeze framed still.

Having watched the events unfold in real time and then seeing that still frame leads me to conclude he has one, IMO. YMMV.

If you get a chance, watch it in real time. He was creamed and his head slammed into the turf violently. I said as soon as it happened that he looked wobbly and dazed. Watch enough sports like football, boxing, MMA, etc. and you develop a sense for these things. Harris is notorious for not wanting to be taken out of a game for concussion protocol. He throws temper tantrums. That's why you can't leave the decision up to the athlete themselves. Machoism. If I was the spotter, I would have sat him, tantrum or not.
Go Bombers!

Quote from: BBRT on August 24, 2025, 04:30:55 PMI was at the game and to the best of my knowledge most of the Rider Fans stayed for the entire game. At least in the section where I have my season tickets. And I did not see Harris wobble to the bench. I think he was just in concussion protocol etc. I would bet he will be playing on the labor day game.

And before anyone gets too excited about the rider lost please remember that the Bombers are no where near the team from top to bottom that the Stamps are in 2025.

They are better than us right now, but we lost to them by one point on the road the last time we played, and we have some potential upgrades coming in Schoen, Wilson and Houston. I'd like to stay optimistic, meaning I thing we lose on labour day, but hopefully take the Banjo Bowl.

mmm, thanks for the reminder I guess. I think your last paragraph is over blown, sure Calgary looks great now, but that statement is an overestimation. We shall see how this plays out in the back half of the year.

It's (much) harder for me to do video clips... That's why I provided the exact time in the game where the 3 secs of zombie walking occurred, so everyone can check it out for themselves.

I guarantee if anyone watches that 3 secs a couple of times focusing just on Trevor, they'll agree with me/us.

If you deleted it from your PVR already, it's not really my problem!

Ya, I don't know.  There was a poop ton of greenies there.  Waaaaay more than I've ever seen for a a reg season SSK@CGY game.  I know at least some made the trek: they announce it on the Riderforum.  What the % mix is, hard to say.

What is true is that's the fullest that stadium has been in since probably the BLM days (excluding post-season).  Surely there can't be that many SSKites living in CGY?

Video of concussed Trevor Harris 2025-08-23

(play it a few times...)

Ok, learned a new skill today, command line extraction of a frame range...

Watch it and cringe...

That's when you're telling your body to do something but the signals are going all haywire.  Just like Cornish.  It's a bad look for the league.  I respect more and more how Zach handles it, he always ALWAYS just lays down until the initial nastiness passes and then quietly leaves the game.

Trevor taking the 2nd head-hitting sack after this might have done extra bad damage, as you're in the danger zone temporally.

P.S. This first hit did not injure his legs.  The zombie limp is purely concussion.  How do I know?  He's walking perfectly normal on the sidelines 20s later, and fine in the next series.  It was the 2nd head hit that he dinged up his ankle and started limping.  That's the hit Mace pulled him right after.

What's extremely odd & alarming is the hoggies, dude helping him up, ball boy, and ref all seem to be going out of their way to ignore him and look away and get away as fast as they can.  Some are looking right at him then turning away.

No one is worried about him or wants to say "hey dude, you ok?".

It's like "I don't want to be a part of this and get in trouble".  That ref looking right at him at the end... just "ho hum".

TSN Director is like: "CUT TO CAMERA 6... CUT TO CAMERA 6 NOW NOW NOW!!!!"

This is getting a bit ridiculous, Techno. For certain, "ball boys", refs, players, and TSN are not colluding to cover up a Trevor Harris concussion.

The clip also looks like how someone would react if they stubbed their toe or has a calf cramp. We'll see what the injury report looks like this week I suppose.

Again, I'm not saying he doesn't have one but I can also tell you for sure it doesn't show conclusively that he does either.

Yeah, I agree, it's cringe. He's doing the zombie stagger there like a boxer or MMA fighter that's been rocked by a punch, IMO.  If you go to about 30:19 and watch it all in real speed/time you can see Harris staggering about. He looks like he's trying to figure out what's going on and wants to give the ball to someone but everyone is ignoring him. The more I watch it the more convinced I am that his bell is rung.

Jump ahead to about 34:00 to see where he has what appears to be the leg cramp issues.

At about 34:41 we don't see Harris or Oullette any more and I think Oullette is dinged at this point too.

Man, that Calgary D just punishes the Riders in this game. What an absolute ****-kicking. The Riders are delusional if they still think they are the better team and the Stamps may have done the Bombers a big favour by stomping the Riders for us. The Rider team psyche has to be crushed not to mention the full hot tub the Riders will be sitting in this week. If the Bombers can lay another beating on the Riders this weekend the Rider collapse will be in full bloom.

Go Bombers!

Sir Blue and Gold

A few minutes after the hit you can see him stretching out his calf. He was probably cramping well before that and that's entirely the reason he looks to be limping after taking the hit. Going to go with what is obvious here and suggest he's just got calf cramps and that's why no one appears concerned.

But you both should look into seeing if this whole game wasn't a deep fake ai simulation. If you look hard enough... there may be signs that none of this even happened at all.

Waffler

It's not something I have ever seen him do before and he had just whacked his head on the turf. He went to the tent briefly but I wonder if they have gone through this so many times he can give the right answers by rote. He just never wants to come out. It's up to the Sask training staff to protect him by being thorough and cautious.

No one is saying he doesn't have leg cramps but watch his head hit the turf in real time on that tackle. I think that blow to the head rang his bell. I'm not sure how you are convinced there was no effect at all. This is a player with a history of concussions and to see no concern being shown after a blow like that is disconcerting and that wasn't the only blow he took. He got rocked several times in this game as did Maier when Harris was finally pulled.

I'm not sure this response is warranted just because someone has a different opinion to yours. I'm betting you know what I think you can do with this comment.  ;)

You both are staring at a random inkblot and confidently claiming it's a dragon. It looks a little like a dragon. It could also be a mountain. Or a random inkblot.

I do enjoy Techno's 2 am theories about the conspiracy occurring in the TSN broadcast truck but the sun is back in the sky now.
