See that mtrl just signed Ciante Evans and Dandridge, wonder if Walters even looked into them

Quote from: Pigskin on August 05, 2025, 05:18:40 PMInteresting stat. JC81 is 8/8 for 52 yards, seems to be automatic on the 7 yard crossing pattern. Solid backup Canadian receiver, with  good hands.

TJ33 leads the D with 41 DTs. 19 ahead of Kramdi who has 22.

TBH I haven't seen Corcoran run anything other than that one crossing pattern, not sure what his skill set is for running great routes, contesting balls or making great catches, for now he should remain a backup to Clercius.

Alright, so I've been to both practices this week:

Offence:
- Zach took all 1st team reps, tentative on Monday, was dropping some bombs today
- Mitchell working with 1st team on the outside and at slot. The first time I saw him take a waggle, he was two steps behind everyone else, looking at the ball the whole time. 2nd time was better, but still a step behind making very sure he didn't go off side.
- Wallace at LG the entire time
- Stanley took about half the reps on Monday, looked to be in there the whole time today.
- Strev did not look good on either day, lots of hesitation, ints, receivers getting hit as they try to make the reception
- Wilson got a couple reps on both days. I can see why he's not getting game reps. Don't think I saw him complete one pass.

Defence:
- D. Lawson was at CB today.
- Kelly took all the safety reps for 1st team I saw, with Kramdi back at LB

We don't need a Canadian at safety but sure if he's a better choice than Kramdi. That does give us the option of less Canadian reps at DT if Lawson is nicked.
One game at a time.

Sounds like Griffin goes back to playing "wherever", Kramdi back to SAM and J. Jones or Ayers back to the 1 game.

Yeah. Most snaps I noticed had 3 DL, Jones playing up close to the line and Griffin floating.

Doesn't sound like Logan is going to be available. Game 8 and he's still not 100%. That sure didn't work out.

Vanterpool also looks like he won't play so the question is does Lofton replace Randolph or not?

Lawson still on the limp. Didn't expect that to be a variation this week. Peterson would be the Canadian coming on for his roster spot.

What options does that leave us with for this week? Mitchell is rising to the top by process of elimination. Nothing has been mentioned about Allen seeing any reps at safety with 1st team.

That leaves us with Mitchell in and Cooley out? Mitchell can back up returns even if he isn't starting at receiver.

Woods could be added at the cost of an import LB.

Man, MOS defends his players til the bitter end. Denies there's been any troubles with Collaros throwing picks....well Mike, the last year, it hasn't been 'greatness', 3 years ago, ya, he was pretty unbelievable, but father time is cruel, and Zack has become a pick machine, don't deny it, acknowledge it, and game plan around it, if not, nothing will change.

Zach still has got a lot give and is much more than a pick machine.  He will turn back on the TD machine as soon as our OL gets healthy and we improve at receiver.  Yes he will throw ducks but his TD to Int ratio should stabilize.  MOS is right to defend him.

Thought Dexter Lawson was a rookie but he was with the Ti-Cats for 2023 and half of 2024 where he started and played in 13 games. Could be shades of ex-Ti-Cat Desmond Lawrence, temporary fill in.

I did not know what either.  Gives me hope.
